Sweet Stampin' - Cake!
I have such a super busy weekend. My lil' girlie has just turned 10 and we are having an Archery Party for her celebration. So I'll be spending the day baking and prepping party gifts. Fingers crossed the hurricane that's due to hit our coast holds off for a little bit, or it'll be a washout!
I'm swinging in today to share my Sweet Stampin' DT card. Our theme this week is 'Cake', what's not to love about that?! We are being sponsored by the fabulous folks at 'Stix2'. So our lucky winner is in for a wonderful prize.
I decided to use a gorgeous image from Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps range and made this card up for my little niece's first birthday which is fast approaching. She's such a lil' cutie and I thought this image was just perfect for her first birthday card.

I've added a little number '1' which I cut with my Marianne Designs numbers die and added a little sparkle with my Diamond Stickles. Georgie got some white ribbon lately on a parcel, so I recycled this and tied a bow for the side of the card. I had these sweet little flowers from a Doodlebug Design Little Posies set which I thought echoed really sweetly the flowers in the image, so I used one to cover the tag hole on the sentiment tag and added another to the bow for balance. They were a different shade of pink, so I used a Promarker to darken them slightly and make them a more compatible shade of pink.
The felt blooms arrived with my Papercraft Inspirations April Issue yesterday (it takes a while to reach New Zealand!) so I was so happy when I realised the colour was a close match for the backing paper I'd used on the card. I used the enclosed thread from the magazine to stitch the individual layers together. It was a little plain without something behind the image as I didn't use a designer paper this time, just a plain backing paper, so I added a little muslin for texture.
The pretty card shape was achieved with a Go Create XXL die called Frilly #10. It's my favourite of their shapes, so I do use it quite a bit. But the rest of the range if fabulous too, I'll have to get another couple soon I think.
Well that's it from me today, do pop on over to the Sweet Stampin' blog, my awesomely talented teamies have some gorgeous inspiration for you. Come join in our celebration of 'Cake' by entering your own creation. Hugs until next time, Wends x
