Sweet Stampin' - Cards for Children
Wow this week has shot by in such a hurry. It's time again already for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin'. We've a gorgeous theme for you this week. It's to 'Make a Card for a Child'. Which actually was perfectly timed for me, as one of my cousins has just had a baby boy, so I made a card for this new little fella in our lives. Our lucky winner of this weeks challenge is in for a treat, as we are being sponsored by All Dressed Up Stamps. I love their images, they're fab.
I've used a sweet stamp I've had in my stash for quite some time for this challenge. It's never before seen ink. So it was really nice to pull it out for this make. The character is called Toby Fox and is illustrated by Lee Holland for DoCrafts. There was a wonderful series a while back with lots of gorgeous Woodland Folks characters, but they sadly seem to be out of stock now.
The lovely sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the cute paper is a digital paper from PrettyGrafikDesigns. I really love their sweet images for kids. The papers are super cute, so when I decided I was going to use Toby Fox, these papers sprang to mind immediately. I really wanted to use a cute toadstool die I bought recently from Joanna Sheen with this make, but I couldn't find it anywhere, which means it's in a pile of stash on my desk and that's a mountain to climb another day. So I finished the card instead, with a little heart I inked to match the papers.
I've kept this quite CAS, as I really didn't want to cover too much of the gorgeous paper. I loved it so much, that I decorated the inside too. I don't do this too often as I usually don't have the time, but I used another sweet sentiment I had in my stash from a bargain bin at the Ally Pally Craft Fair, which I think finishes this new baby card just perfectly. Apologies for the faded colour in this photo. It is green like the main picture, but for some reason, it's lost it's depth of colour in this pic, but you get the idea.
Well I need to dash now. My baby sis is coming for dinner, so I'd better get cracking. I'm busy working on a baby diary right now for my one of my best mates whose baby shower is tomorrow, so it's going to be a full night! LOL. Fly by the seat of my pants girl, as always! Do stop by the Sweet Stampin' challenge and check out the other fabulous cards my teamies have made. I'm in awe of these girlies. They're a super talented crew. So go get your fill of inspiration there. Hugs till next time, Wends x
