Southern Girls - Tic Tac Toe

Hey there lovely blog pals. I am skipping in here after a hugely busy week, which included poorly kiddos and the miracle of new life! So so sooooooo excited that one of my best pals just had a gorgeous baby girl and she's just delish. I'm late with everything this week though, especially my blog posts as my energy has been very much with my pal this week. Better late than never as they say, so here, finally, is my Design team post for the latest Southern Girls challenge.

This week we are being sponsored by two fabulous sponsors, so we will have two lucky winners this challenge. PpinkyDolls and The East Wind are our sponsors.

This challenge we are using a Tic Tac Toe board, and you must choose either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of three to use in the creation of your card. I chose the central vertical line - Patterned Paper, Gold and Die/Punch, though I managed to sneak in some Glitter and Mist too!

For my DT creation this week, I've used a stunning image from The East Wind. I just love it, it's called 'Aurora - Spring Butterfly'. I think this image is so enchanting, so dreamy and wistful. I love it to bits! So I tried to give the card an airy, dreamy feeling, leaving lots of white space and not crowding the image with too many embellishments, though I did go OTT with the butterflies! LOL. I used the diecut waste from a butterfly border die to create the little butterflies and a small punch to create the larger butterflies. I sprayed them first with a generous Spritz of Antique Gold Perfect Pearls Mist to create the 'Gold' element of my card. I also went for blonde tones in her hair to add to that 'Gold' theme.

I was really drawn to using Green in my creation to echo those lovely fresh cut lawn green nature tones, so I added a layer of green under the image to suggest she's laying on soft Spring grass. I added some glitter to the flower garland in her hair and to the butterfly image. I chose a green paper to carry that Spring grass theme through. This is from a set I won from Bev Rochester a couple of years ago, so I am not 100% sure who this paper is from. It has bunnies in a wood on the reverse and I want to say they're BoBunny, but I'm not positive. If you know for sure, feel free to tell me! I've inked the edge of the image with one of my green promarkers - grass green actually. But apart from cutting the image at a bit of an angle, it's a very CAS card as I really wanted the image to feature.

The pics are pants, sorry, it's really bad lighting today for photos, but I'm much more excited about going for snuggles with bub, so I'll remedy this tomorrow. I'll catch y'all again soon. Hugs, Wends x
