Sweet Stampin' - Something Old, Something New
Well it's been a stand still kinda week for me and my crew this week. I've had one or other or both of the kids home from school all week! Bah, Winter bugs! I could seriously do without them! On a happier note, it's time for a new challenge over on the Sweet Stampin' blog and we have a great challenge for you this week, 'Something Old, Something New'. I'm so looking forward to seeing how you all interpret this! Our fabulous sponsor this challenge is the wonderful Ribbon Girl, so the winner is in for a super treat!
I've made a baby diary for my sister to use in these early baby days. To record those special moments, write down those appointments and journal the joys of parenthood. You might recall I did something similar for my buddy who's due to have her baby any day now, to journal the lead up to her baby's arrival. You can see that post here. I love, love, LOVE these fabulous Kraft journals I picked up recently for a great price. I've been really enjoying embellishing these. They're a great backdrop for an embellished journal.
My 'Something Old' for this challenge, is the sweet Lili of the Valley baby stamp which I have had for quite a while. I bought it as soon as it was released. I love this stamp so much for newborn makes and use it loads! Lili of the Valley, have such a gorgeous range of newborn stamps, they're my 'go to' for new baby makes.
My 'Something New' for this challenge, are the gorgeous Michele Roos papers. These are not digital papers, but lovely thick gorgeous quality physical papers. A new line that Michele has recently released. Oh my goodness they are yummy! I love this divine Butterflies and Hummingbirds set. I'm so pleased with them, I know I'll be ordering more before long.
I have seen others using these 'Blueprints' sets from MFT and they look so fabulous as the base layers for a project, so I thought I'd splash out recently and buy a lovely one I came across called Blueprints 12. I've used the stitched rectangle as the image base for this make and the stars and hearts come from the same set. It was such a good fit for this image too, with the sweet hearts and stars scattered around the image.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing what I did with our 'Something Old, Something New' theme and I can't wait to see what you do, so do come and join us this week. Head on over to the blog to check out what the rest of my awesomely talented teamies have been up to. You're sure to be inspired! See you all again soon for my next craft adventure. Big hugs, Wends x
