Southern Girls ~ Whimsical Fun

Hey there my lovely blog buddies. How has your week been? Mine is whizzing past at breakneck speed! It'll be C@5$#tmas before we know it! LOL. I know, I know, it's a rude swear uttered before December. In my house we use the code word Sausages when talking about Christmas before December. It rolls around all too soon eh? Now that's quite enough of that, I better get to the matter at hand! It's time for a new challenge on the Southern Girls blog and this week we want to see your humorous or whimsical makes. Now what's more whimsical than a fairy? So I've gone that route with my make today.

We are being sponsored by the wonderful Oddball Art Stamps and the DT have been spoilt to be able to use some of their gorgeous images. I chose a sweet and whimsical fairy amongst her toadstools spreading fairy dust. This lovely stamp is called Nixie the Pixie and I think she's perfect for our challenge today.

Blown up like this, the wee fairies hair looks a bit funny, I should have used another lighter shade to bridge the dark and light, but she's actually pretty tiny, so it's not so obvious in reality. She was a trick to colour actually, which was why I chose to fussy cut her, talk about drawing outside the lines!

I've used glossy accents on the mushroom caps and inked the white paper on the sentiment so it blends with the gorgeous LOTV Raspberry Road paper which is from their Beach Bliss set. I used stickles to glitter the fairies wings and the fairy dust, also the little butterfly got the stickles treatment in places. I kept it very simple as I loved the scene against that fabulous paper, so just added the enamel dots which toned so well to finish that top right corner.

We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge. The design team have taken really different and fun approaches, so be sure to pop on over to the blog to check out what the rest of my talented teamies have been up to. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends x
