Fab 'n' Funky ~ Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Wow, can you believe we're now in December? The kids were busy trimming the Christmas tree last night. That's our tradition, we trim the tree on December 1st. They look forward to that almost as much as Christmas day and putting the tree up December 1st makes Christmas last a little longer. So I'm all good with that! Hubby was hovering last night, telling them where to put things, I had to nudge him to stand back and just let them do it themselves, it's a sparkly extravaganza of childhood joy. Nothing matches, is even or symmetrical, but they did it, so I love it! But I'm really here today to share my DT creation for Fab 'n' Funky, so let's get to that. Our new challenge starts today and our theme, chosen by our lovely Pat, appropriately, is 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'.
We were given some lovely images to work with by our fabulous sponsor 'The Paper Shelter' and the DT have been hard at work creating some wonderful inspiration for all. I chose to work with both of the images, as I decided to make my kiddos a Santa Sack tag. So I've added a little Initial to mark whose is whose. These joyful Santa images from The Paper Shelter were perfect for this idea.
I've used an MFT viewfinder die behind each image to hint at the memories made and captured at this wonderful time of year. On Georgie's tag I added the Santa Selfie image, a string of Christmas stockings diecut from a Couture Creations die and a heart and star diecut from a Simon Says Stamp die set. The '25' and the December calendar stamp which you can just see a peek of behind the image, are from a Kaisercraft stamp set called St Nicholas. I then added a wee tag from my stash which reads, 'He knows if you've been naughty or nice'.
Zac's tag has the '25' stamp on it again, but I've used a dalarna horse stamp from Panduro Hobby to create a little interest on his tag. That stamp set had swedish style snowflakes and little dalarna horses, so I've had a little inky adventure there. I've added a wee tag on top which reads 'Holiday Magic... is in the air' and finished his tag with a little glittered Christmas tree with a tiny star on top and a teeny 'Z'. So now I just need the Santa Sacks to put them on! Best get sewing I think!!
The Reindeer Food prop in the following picture, is courtesy of my amazing sister Jani and her fabulous business partner Fiona who together are Gatherum Collectif. Fiona made this wee Reindeer Food bag for the kids to sprinkle outside before they go to bed Christmas Eve. It's said to glow and guide the reindeer to your house. So sweet, I utterly loved the idea! So I saved a bit to use this year from last years bag. If you want to check out what this dynamic duo get up to down-under, you can find their amazing creative adventures here. The Reindeer Food appeared in an article for Your Home & Garden New Zealand.
I had so much fun playing with these sweet Santa images and I know the rest of our fabulous DT did too, so come and join in this challenge with your own Santa creation and let's spread some festive cheer. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends x

The red and green colour combo is a real fave for me this year and all the details are fabulous.
It's probably a good job I don't have any children...I could never let them decorate the tree...I need colour co-ordination and careful placement of everything - lol!
