Southern Girls ~ A Bit Of What You Fancy
I'm at my wee boys prize giving right now. He doesn't know it, but he's getting a mention today. I'm so excited for him! Then he'll be donning the wings I've been working hard to make all week for the class play tomorrow. Quite a week it's been for us all already and yet still so much to come. But right now, I need to tell you about my DT creation. It's our last challenge for the year at Southern Girls. We'll be taking a little break over Christmas, so this is the final challenge to join us in for 2015. I'm joining in with the Team Trace girlies today and this challenge we would love to see 'A Little Bit of What You Fancy'. (I think that's code for 'Anything Goes', but shhh, that's just between you and me).
Our sponsors for this challenge (and we're spoilt to have two!) are Lemon Shortbread and A Random Fan. I was given a beautiful image by Lemon Shortbread to use for this challenge. It's called Flower Headband Fairy Girl.
I just love this image, it's so wistful and dreamy. So I went for wistful and dreamy in my card design. The minute I saw her, I knew I wanted to use blue for her eyes, the flowers and her dress. So I nearly fell over, when I went to pop her up on our DT blog and my lovely teamie Chris had done the same. Great minds!
I love working with diecuts, I love flowers and I love pearls. So this card has a little bit of what I fancy. I used a pretty heart border from Whiff of Joy, and an MFT flourish. I added a silk flower and two Wild Orchid Crafts sweetheart blossoms. The papers are First Edition Spring Drop. I've coloured the image with my Promarkers and used a Wink of Stella pen to colour the green leaves. So in the right light, there's a lovely shimmer on her headband.
Come and join us with a little bit of what YOU fancy. I can't wait to see what you create. Will it be CAS or fussy and fancy? Will you go minimalist, or throw everything you have at it. I love a good crafty adventure, so come and show us what YOU love.
I'll be back again soon with my next crafty adventure. But between now and then, I have two families to feed, so I need to get to the grocers! I'll leave you with a pic of my wee girlie, which was taken after one of her aunties made her a daisy chain crown. It so made me think of her when I saw this sweet image from Lemon Shortbread. Have a gorgeous day. Hugs, Wends x

As You Like It: Masculine or Feminine? I prefer girlie makes myself. The pretty colours, flowers, lace, ribbon and pearls. Definitely my prefered style.
Update: Here's my baby with his 'Teachers Choice' award he received at the School Prize-giving Assembly this morning. So proud of this sweet wee man.
