Southern Girls ~ Anything Goes
Ever have one of those week where the Mojo goes AWOL? Aaargh, I've tried, I've really tried to get to grips with this layout but alas, I'm left wanting. It doesn't help that I chose something which isn't a strength for me. I just wanted to try something different! But enough of my moaning, despite my dissatisfaction with this creation, it is indeed time to introduce our next Southern Girls Challenge and this week it's a free for all with an 'Anything Goes' theme. So as long as 'your' crafty mojo hasn't taken a hike like mine, come and share your creativity with us this week over at The Southern Girls Challenge. We'd love to see what you've been inspired to create.
I created a little pocket to add one more photo from the day as there was no room for it on the page. I also added a little journalling faux notebook page. So I wrote a few lines on the back of the diecut notebook page about the day. I added a wee cork heart to finish the pocket. I think these are fab, so it was nice to use on this layout. You can find them here at SpiegelMom Scraps. Now those girlies know how to scrap! I've a long way to go, but I'm not put off trying again.
I think I might add the date or at least year on the page too, but for now, the photos are done, so I will update later. The foiled paper has really caught the light in these picks and the background paper looks a bit faded out. It's actually a better colour match in reality, the paper is not so pale as it looks in the pics.
We are being sponsored for this challenge by Rick St Dennis and I really wanted to use this fabulous old Gypsy Wagon to create a Scrapbook Layout with for the challenge. I printed the image and the sentiment in an earthy tone for this layout. We had such a happy family day out at a Gypsy Fair earlier in the Summer, so as soon as I saw this fab image, I knew I wanted to use it to create a scrapbook layout of this day.
I wanted to capture some of the magic of our lovely family day out. But I am a scrapbooking novice, so I really have no idea what I'm doing! I threw all the ink I could at the page (courtesy of two gorgeous 'Grunge' sets of Lili of the Valley stamps) and I used a lovely gold foiled craft paper which was a Mother's Day gift from my daughter to create the basis of my layout. I used an old teabag to age the doily I used and used some deckle edged scissors to cut around the photos and the title.
Head on over to the Southern Girls and join our 'Anything Goes' challenge, stop and enjoy the fabulous creations by my teamies while you're there. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure. Enjoy the rest of your week. Hugs, Wends x

I love the background you've created with those stamps, what a great idea - it's a lovely personal page which is exactly what scrapbooking should be.
