Sweet Stampin' ~ Terrible Teens

Uh oh, woops! Running late, sorry!! It's been a big day today, taking my lil' dude to Little Scientists this morning, then a 3 year old birthday party, I was plumb tuckered out afterward and only just remembered I hadn't scheduled this post!! It's time of course for a new post at Sweet Stampin' and man do we have a fun theme for you this week! We want to see all your makes for those 'Terrible Teens' in your life. They can be so hard to create for can't they?

I have a teen in training in my house right now. My daughter Georgie is really flexing those teen angst muscles. She's so funny with it though and we can always make her laugh, not matter how horridly hormonal she's being! So my card for this challenge is actually her card for her recent birthday. She only turned 11, but I think it still fits our theme really well, so I hope you agree.

I've used a fantastic image from Yam Puff, as my wee girlie is wolf crazy! She's all about the wolf for over a year now. So of course her birthday card had to have a wolf on it. I kept the layout pretty simple, a few layered papers and simple twine bow. I can't even begin to tell you how afraid I was of colouring that wolf and how delighted I am with how it came out! Needless to say, this card was a HUGE hit with my wee pre-teen birthday girlie. I used purple as the base colour for this creation because it's her fav', which was not lost on my wee doll. So I was chuffed with that. I used my Promarkers to colour the image.

I've used a lovely digital paper set from The Digital Press by designer Wild Heart Designs called Free Spirit that had a lovely Native American theme to its styling and also fit with the purple theme I wanted to use. I loved the sentiment that came with this set in the journal cards section. It just fit with this make so perfectly. Georgie is my 'Wild Child' in the nicest possible way. I love her raw, joyful, love of life. She lives life on her own terms, finding her own path and absolutely makes no apologies for this. She is my strong willed, gorgeous, free spirited child and I wouldn't have it any other way. So this card was my 'hat tip' to the strength and beauty I see in my blossoming babe.

Here are a couple of pics of her dressed as an 'emerging werewolf' for a recent dress up day at school. She utterly 'owned' this outfit and it was worth all the neckache and stiffness from all the stitching the night before to see how joyful and proud she was to wear this. She didn't take it off until well into the evening! I was pretty proud of that tail! You won't see so well in these pics but even the tips of her nails were painted red to hint at some feral behaviour!

So come join us at Sweet Stampin' this week with your own 'Terrible Teens' creations. We'd love to see your take on the theme. While you're there check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my teamies. We are hugely thrilled to be sponsored by the wonderful Lawn Fawn for this challenge. So we have one very gorgeous prize up for grabs for our lucky winner! Check out all things gorgeous at Lawn Fawn to see what you'd be in to win.

We have had a changing of the guards recently at Sweet Stampin', with some of the DT having to take some personal time and we sadly wave goodbye to our beloved Maarit. We hope to see her back soon and will be stalking her in blogland until then! Thinking of you sweetie and sending loads of love until we meet again. Hugs to you all out there in blogland. I just love how I can be writing from lil' ole New Zealand, thousands of miles away from most of you and yet share our thoughts, lives and loves through this wonderful hobby. See you again soon. Hugs, Wends x

I already mentioned this, but I think the card is stunning!

And your daughter looks like such a fun young lady too. She also has great taste, as I love wolves too, and purple's my fave also! In fact, you got my exact favourite shade there. x

My sweet friend, I'm not surprised in the least that your wee girl is enamored with her card! It is stunning and just perfect for her! I love how much you tailored it to the recipient... your love for Georgie shines through every facet of it. :o) The stamp is beautiful and you've colored it so wonderfully. The digi papers are gorgeous and the sprightly patterns that so many teens love. Beautifully done, my dear Wends! And thank you as always for the beautiful words you leave me... what a blessing you are. I hope your difficult day was followed by a brighter one. Always know you are in my heart and prayers. :o)

Hugs and blessings,
Karen
