Fab 'n' Funky ~ Add A Sentiment

Hello my lovely blogland pals. I have a sweet card to share with you today, which has been quickly put together between entertaining the troops (who are off on Winter break now) and making dinner.  I don't know why I think I can do it all, because clearly I can't! I just added my card to the blog half an hour late! Apologies to all my lovely teamies who managed to get their acts together! LOL. Thank heavens for hubbies 'Lightbox' as there was no way I was going to get a daylight pic today!

Our new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky this week is 'Add a Sentiment', chosen by our lovely hostess this week ~ Wendy. I love sentiment stamps and quietly, between you and me, I own far too many! Yet still feel the need to buy more. There's just something fabulous about pairing a sweet image with just the right sentiment. We got to use some fabulous images from our wonderful sponsor 'All Dressed Up' for our challenge this week, and I chose a super sweet image to work with called Hippy Chick.

I added lashings of Wink of Stella to these sweet butterflies, which you can only see in the right light, but I managed to capture some of the shine in the pic below. I've coloured this sweet image with my Promarkers and stuck with a very simple blue and yellow colour palette. I used my Blue Pearl Promarker to colour the doily too, as I decided it didn't look right in white behind the pearly white diecut layer. I love it! So cool to be able to do things like that with alcohol markers and the wide nib works a treat for quick bold colouring.

I bought a while back a really pretty heart trim circle die from the Creative Expressions range by Sue Wilson and I felt it would be really sweet to use it with this image. I just love how it looks! Thanks to my sweet blog buddy Karen, for the inspiration. I saw her gorgeous creation using this sweet die and just had to have it! I cut a circle of cardstock in a lovely periwinkle blue to back the hearts diecut which shows through really nicely. Behind the blue doily, I popped a kraft card diecut with Frilly #10 from the Go Kreate range and finally laid all these pieces on a lovely Maja Design page from the Vintage Baby range which incorporated all the colours.

The sweet sentiment I used is from a Stamping Bella set called Fay Loves Fall from the Tiny Townies range. I think it fits really well with this sweet image and I have a little person in mind who will love to have this for a birthday card. So I coloured her blonde locks thinking of her.

I hope you'll come and join us this week for our 'Use a Sentiment' challenge. I'd love to see what you're inspired to do. Check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of my talented teamies and I'll be back again soon with my next crafty adventure. In the meantime have a fabulous week. Big hugs, Wends xoxo

Any girl, big or small, would love to have this beautiful card for their birthday! Shhh, don't tell pink but I have a soft spot for blue for girly cards! I think it can look very elegant and that's certainly the case with your card...it's really stylish with the pretty DP and doily :-)
This is a cute image too and of course the sparkle is the perfect finishing touch for the butterflies!
You have paired up the sentiment with the image brilliantly and that's such a sweet sentient :-)
