Southern Girls ~ Floral Frenzy
My blog will be feeling a bit like a London bus stop right now! All quiet, then two or three posts come at once! I have a new DT post for the Southern Girls challenge today. We are being sponsored by the fabulous folks at Polkadoodles and the DT got to play with some very gorgeous Polkadoodles stamps. I used the lovely Serenity Blossom. I think this is such a sweet image and I love her pose. I've used my Promarkers as usual and she was just so lovely to colour. I missed a bit though, can you spot it?! LOL
I added a couple of clouds which are from two really old Quickutz dies and teamed them with a lovely new sunshine die I got with my latest Doohickey Club Magazine (Volume 10). I added Wink of Stella to the rays at the back and left the central circle plain. The die comes as two pieces which you layer. The card is actually really CAS, with just a doily behind the image and the sun and clouds, plus a wee sentiment banner from the same Doohickey Club set. I didn't want to swamp the pretty paper with extra embellies. I really liked the 'Floral Frenzy' pattern on this paper. It's very sunny and bright and perfect for a 'feel good' card. The paper is Happy Day from the Maggie Holmes collection for Crate Paper. The card shape is of course Go Kreate Frilly #10, still my fav' and I used a Lil' Inkers Stitched Circle for the image shape.
The sentiment stamp is from a Some Odd Girl sentiment set called 'Be You'. I inked just the word, as the banner portion didn't fit this banner. A very cool set of sentiments, fun for all sorts of purposes, scrapbooking, journalling, cards. I love it and don't use it enough. I plan to put the sentiment 'You Are My Happy' (or something similar) on the inside of the card. I think that would be such a nice surprise to open the card to. So I'll have to choose the right person to give this to! Another make with 'no one in particular' in mind. Not the norm for me at all!
The pic above captured the Wink of Stella highlights better, but the colours are off. Truer in the top two pics. This shot was taken indoors under the spots to get the Wink of Stella to sparkle. It does look so pretty when the light catches it. I lined the clouds with it, just across the bottom, edged the image and the sentiment, and filled in her wings. I dotted coloured wink of stella on the leaves and flowers on her dress and in her hair. Love this stuff!
Well that's it from me today. Sorry about the pants pics, bit blurry, in too much of a hurry. I'm sitting with a cherry stone pack on my back now, too much racing around! So I'm off to catch up with hubby and put my feet up. Head on over to the Southern Girls blog to check out what my insanely talented teamies have been up to and come and join in our fabulous 'Floral Frenzy' challenge. I'd love to see what you do with this fab challenge theme. I'll be back again soon, with my next crafty adventure. Big hugs, Wends xoxo

Your colouring is fab and I think I may have spotted the very teeny tiny 'gap'...well, you did ask! I would never have spotted it if you didn't point it out though! I would just have been enjoying admiring your shading and the lovely sparkly wings - lol!
Big hugs, Kat xx

I thought I'd already left you a comment on this post, must have done that (dozy) thing I do ...write the comment and then not publish it! So I'm doubly glad to see your card pop up over at Crafty Calendar...at least I could rectify my mistake. Thanks so much for playing along this month.
