Sugar Nellie Challenge ~ #139
Hello my lovely blogging pals. It's time for a new challenge over on the Sugar Nellie challenge blog. I hope you've all caught up with our shift to our new challenge 'home' on the Sugar Nellie blog. We no longer have a separate site for the challenge, but you just need to click the icon on the right hand side of the Sugar Nellie blog to find your way quickly to our challenge post. Drink in some fantastic inspiration from the 'beyond talented' Sugar Nellie Design Team while you're there. But right now, come and check out what I and the rest of the Sugar Nellie Challenge Design Team have been up to.
The gorgeous image I've used for this challenge is called Elf Made Magic and is one of the retiring digis Funky Kits is currently offering on special. These are disappearing soon, forever. So be in quick and don't miss out on these enchanting images. There are loads that are perfect for Christmas too. So pop on over to the Funky Kits store to see what gorgeous images Karen is retiring very soon. There are three pages, so be sure to scroll through them all.
I've coloured this sweet Christmas fairy in traditional Christmas colours using my Promarkers. I've liberally sprinkled Glitter Magic on her wings and Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Jewels on the fluffy bits of her costume and the snow. I've also used Wink of Stella on the bells and star and several other little areas of her clothing. So in reality she's pretty sparkly. Shame it's so hard to capture the true sparkle on film. But you do see a bit of sparkle above.
I created a Pyramid or Teepee Fold card for my base. I have actually glued this on all three sides as I've no intention of collapsing it, but for posting, you can use little magnets or velcro dots and leave one side unsecured, so that it opens out to write your message inside. I'm going to have this wee set as part of my Christmas decorations this year, so didn't need it to be flat for any reason. I made a smaller one with a Christmas sentiment, so the two will stand together. I think with their 'tree like' appearance, it's a really cute idea for Christmas cards and this retiring image was such a perfect fit for this make. I'll be making more of these for sure, it was so easy! Just google Pyramid or Teepee Fold for tutorials and ideas.
The larger Teepee Fold card I made using 3 different coordinating designer papers and a smaller version which I added a Christmas sentiment to. The sentiment die was a free magazine cover gift. Come on over to the Sugar Nellie Challenge and join in the fun with your own Sugar Nellie creation and do head over to Funky Kits too and check out those retiring stamps. They'll be gone very soon and won't be back again as the license has expired. They're on offer at a steal of a price too! I'll be back again with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, check out what my talented teamies did with some of their favourite Sugar Nellie images. See you soon. Hugs, Wends xoxo

Allsorts Challenge: #373 ~ Anything But A Card (Christmas Decoration)
4 Crafty Chicks: #309 ~ Favourite Company/Stamp/Designer. This is easy for me. I'm a HUGE Sugar Nellie fan. I have been for years, and so imagine my joy and elation when I was asked to join the Design Team! I LOVE Sugar Nellie images. Funky Kits is of course the 'home' of Sugar Nellie, so they are my favourite store for all things Sugar Nellie. (Marina Fedotova is my favourite artist and she is responsible for a lot of the enchanting Sugar Nellie fairies, including this one I've used on my Christmas project.) But I love all the Sugar Nellie designs. Karen has a great eye for enchanting, sweet images that are greatly loved by many in the crafting community.
Update: I made the Top 3 at the Mod Squad Challenge. Thank you so much ladies! Such a treat to see my wee card up in the Top 3 xoxo
