Sweet Stampin' ~ Spots & Dots

Woops!! I was meant to have this post live yesterday evening and life kinda took over a little. Too much time on the archery field!! It's Auckland Anniversary Weekend (which means Monday is a holiday for Aucklanders) so I've just got back from a lovely BBQ get together at one of my sisters. A lovely family gathering. It's always nice to get all the siblings, partners and kiddos together. There are seven of us siblings, so it's quite an undertaking! We were minus 2 today, but still a big crowd of us. The sun was shining, there was lots of good food, great beers and easy happy conversation. Fun for all. So it's nice to have this happy little card to share with you today. I recently sent this to my mummy who is staying with my baby sister in San Diego for a while.

Our new challenge went live yesterday at Sweet Stampin' and our theme this week is 'Spots & Dots'. I used a gorgeous image from A Day For Daisies for my card and layered the image up on some lovely spotty yellow paper. I used the same paper to diecut the swirly foliage. I used a wonky double stitched die from Lil' Inkers Designs called Silly Stitched Die Set to cut the image out. The corner diecut is from my Quickutz Photo Corner die. The flower was assembled from different layers of paper blooms that I coloured with my Promarkers to fit the colour scheme and fixed with a glittery brad.

I added a sentiment to the card after taking my initial photos outside. It was too late to take the shots outside again, so the above shots are indoors in darker lighting. For true colours, the shot below has the more natural tones, but sadly is missing the sentiment! I stamped it straight onto the image panel from a lovely Magnolia Sentiment Stamp from the 'Bon Voyage' release.

I hope you'll come on over and join in the fun with us at Sweet Stampin' for our 'Spots & Dots' challenge. We'd love to see what you're inspired to do. Just remember to include some stamping. I'll be back again soon with my next crafty adventure. Hope you're having a fabulous weekend. Hugs, Wends xoxo

As You Like It Challenge: Favourite Flower ~ I just love daisies. The sweet simplicity of this cheerful flower so appeals to me and I try to have some planted every Summer in pots. I like to use 'daisy like' clusters of petal layers to create my own flowers for cards too, as these are flatter than the WOC flowers I love to use, so post more easily.

Update: I made Top 5 in the Passion For Promarkers challenge. Thank you so much ladies!

Can't believe I'm just getting round to wishing you a Happy New Year and it's already nearly February :( Sounds like you had a great family day together. Counting the years to retirement so that I can get out to Wellington to see my sister. I'm lovin' your card - so clever to use neutrals on the image as a contrast to the gorgeous DP. Sending the huggiest of hugs xxx

My sweet friend, I am delighted to hear you've had such a wonderful time with loved ones. Your card couldn't be sweeter, Wends! The image is just darling and I love the sentiment choice for her. The papers are so bright and cheery and I just adore the beautiful flower you added... and of course my favorite heart swirls! :) Everything you create is pure happiness. Have a sparkly day, my treasured friend. :)

Hugs and blessings,
Karen
