Sweet Stampin' ~ Cats & Dogs

Hey there lovelies. Isn't this year just whizzing by?! It's almost my wee man's birthday, so that's half the year almost gone! Crazy days. Today though, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and our theme this week is 'Cats & Dogs', so in a nutshell, we just want to see your creations which feature or include cats and dogs. Simples! 

My make today, very sweetly, is actually a 'collab' with my daughter Georgie. She loved this sweet stamp from Sylvia Zet's 'Wee Stamps' range when she saw it and wanted to colour it up for a friends birthday. She ran out of puff half way through the colouring and so it was left for me to finish and then create the card for her to give. But I was proud of her attempt at shading the wee pot. I finished it up, but she made a good start. Kitty had to be 'white' apparently, which I actually really like, but her shading is a little hard to see. So Georgie and I will have to work on that a little more.

We used Promarkers to colour the sweet image and then I added some Wink of Stella to the centre of the daisies for a bit of sparkle and shine. The backing paper is MME and the lovely sentiment is from an older Whiff of Joy stamp set called Magic Moments. I really like the bolder font of the top line in combination with the second font, I think it looks edgy and fun and was the perfect sentiment to go with this wee kitty for Georgie's friends birthday. I do have a bit of a 'sentiment stamp' fetish. I love the have 'just the right stamp' on hand to finish a creation. So I've accumulated a great many over the years, but I still find myself coming back to a favourite few. I wonder how many of you are the same?

I finished the card with some pretty pale blue pearls and distressed the edges of the paper panels. A relatively CAS and quick make, but very fun to have shared some of the process with my girlie. She does like to try and make her own birthday cards now after watching me for so long, but just runs out of steam sometimes, LOL.
