Sweet Stampin' ~ Sympathy or Thinking of You
Hey lovelies, ooh I thought I was on top of it all and I've arrived home from our trip up North for the kiddies Autumn break to realise I'd forgotten to schedule my last post! So here it is, better late then never eh?! We are having a 'Sympathy or Thinking of You' challenge at Sweet Stampin' this week. I didn't have a need right now for a Sympathy card, but we miss our Swedish pals so much and I often use sentiments on their cards that express this. I made this card for Georgie to send to their eldest son and I think the sentiment is bang on!
Both our kiddos are big Star Wars fans so we've exchanged Star Wars themed gifts over the years and I knew I had a fabulous image in my stash from Krista Smith that was perfect to colour up depicting these two as Luke & Leia. He's as blonde as she is dark, so I coloured them with my Promarkers to match and stuck with hues that worked with this fabulous paper I had in my stash. If you pop up the pic and look closely you can just spot the Wink of Stella shimmer on their lightsabers. I took it past the lines to make it look like it was glowing. Hard to see in these pics, but lovely in reality.
The fab paper is an older paper from BoBunny's Weekend Market Collection. I love the dark moody hues and thought it was fun for a masculine creation. I kept it simple with distressed edges and mounted it straight onto the black card base. I just added an olive paint chip mat behind the image panel, the sentiment along the side which was cut with a La La Land Stitched Tabs Die.
I used a Lil' Inker Square Stitched Mats frame die to cut the image panel and finished the card with a copper toned metal corner which I fixed in place with Ranger Multi Medium Mat Adhesive. Simples!
Head on over to Sweet Stampin' to see what the rest of my madly talented teamies have been up to. There is a wonderful range of inspiration there to help kick you off with this challenge. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, in the meantime, get your craft on and come play along with us if you can. Just remember you need to do some stamping to be eligible for our Top 3 honours. Hugs, Wends xoxo
