Whimsy Stamps ~ November New Releases

Hello lovely crafty pals. Can you believe we are in November?! This of course means we have a New Digital Release Launch at Whimsy Stamps. Sooooo many delish images coming at you this month and these includes some designers that are new to Whimsy! I'm so excited to share that we have some lovely Tickled Pink images, Rustic Sugar and Pollycraft images now in our Digital Vault. So exciting as I love these designers. I have a real soft spot for the Rustic Sugar images and am very honoured that it is my colouring featured on the image promo' sheets. What I'd like to share with you today though, is one of the sweet new release images by Whimsy artist and designer Crissy Armstrong. This sweet seal is all about the joys of Christmas!

I've coloured this cute seal with my Copic Markers and I really wanted to make him a 'white' seal like the babies are when they're newborn, so I used E42, E41 and E40 to give a 'warm white' effect. I've used Cool Greys on the present bow and hat. The Reds are R59, R39, R37 and R35. I really like this pinky red.

I used a sweet Whimsy Stamps clear stamp set to create the watery world for the seal. I used the little fish and the seaweed to add these details. I've used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink to stamp the two schools of fish. I then used Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy to stamp the background seaweed. I then added the darker seaweed over these. I first used Brushed Corduroy and then stamped overtop of this in Pine Needles to deepen the colour.

I've filled detail in on the seaweed with my YG97, YG95, YG93 and YG91 Copic Markers. I wanted to add just a little touch of underwater detail and was so pleased with how perfect this stamp set was for this. I used my Copic Markers to create the gradient of colour in the water, working from the outside of the frame inwards with these colours B12, B00, B000 and B0000.

I used two lovely sentiments from Crissy Armstrongs Digital Christmas sentiment set that was given away with the Kit & Clowder Fireside colouring class. It's a lovely set with some really fun sentiments. I thought the 'warm fuzzies' was cute for this make. I'd been googling the young seals for colour inspiration and they're so fluffy! So I thought this would be sweet sentiment to combine with the image.

I used a lovely embossing folder to create the background which has wave textures on it. I layered this onto a lightly textured white cardstock and I diecut the edges using a stitched edge scalloped die. I then mounted this onto a cardstock which has a lovely sheen to it and the colour matched my 'Winter White' seal so nicely.

Thanks for stopping in to visit today. I hope my creation meets with your 'seal of approval', hehe, sorry, I couldn't resist! Pretty good for one who doesn't like 'punny' sentiments, LOL. I'll be back again soon with more crafty mischief, but in the meantime, have a looksy at the lovely New Release goodies at Whimsy Stamps.

I'll link what I've used in my creation today and you can click through on the banner above to the store. I always get SO excited when it's new release week, as we Digital Divas get to see the digital release ahead of time but not the rubber release, so I'm like a kid in a candy store checking it all out! LOL. I'll be back next Wednesday with my next New Digital Release creation. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo

Sweet Wends, this is completely precious! Isn't he the most huggable Christmas cutie? You've colored him so beautifully! Your sentiment choices are perfection and I adore your card design. The embossing, festive plaid, scalloped base... everything works together so wonderfully. Thank you for the sweet inspiration, my dear friend. I have missed you and am so happy to finally be back for good! :)

Hugs and blessings,
Karen
