Christmas at Sweet Stampin' ~ Unity Sweetie

Hey there lovely crafty pals. I'm sharing my monthly Christmas creation for Christmas at Sweet Stampin' today with you. We're trying to work out the new Inlinkz system there at the moment, so I hope you'll bear with us and still play along. The new system is asking folks to sign in, which has us all a little rattled, but it appears to be doing this across the board. So we're hoping not too many folks are put off by these new rules. Right onto my Christmas make...

I've used a Unity Stamps image to create this card and had another go at the 'no lines' colouring technique. I stamped the image in Memento Desert Storm ink to give that soft outline and then coloured the image with my Promarkers as I wanted the Duck Egg blue shade for her coat. I really love that colour combo.

I kept the card design very simple. I tried to go for the idea of a 'rustic portrait' and so layered the image over some woodgrain paper, which came free with a Making Cards Magazine. The pretty patterned paper was from the same set. I fussy cut the sentiment which was also from the same magazine paper set. I really like this paper and hoped it would work well with my Duck Egg colouring. I'm so happy with the soft finish, though still not convinced that I like the faces without definition. I'd like to have gone a little darker on the facial features, but was too chicken to trace over the lines in case I messed it up! I've coloured this image up before, you might recall that creation here. I darkened the eyelashes in that one, I might be brave and do this one too, before giving it away, but I need to find a really fine tip brown liner pen first!

I hope you'll come and join the fun with us at Christmas at Sweet Stampin'. We are always 'Anything Christmas Goes' and we're crafting all year to get ready for Christmas and avoid the manic last minute rush. It still happens to me every year, but I'm better off for the crafting I've done for each month. We are welcoming four new team members this challenge too! Please head over to the blog and give them a warm welcome. Glad to have you on board, Tammy, Rocky, Tristan and Shona. I'll be back again tonight with my Whimsy Wednesday post, so pop back in for that if you can. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

What a sweet Christmas card, Wends! Your no-line colouring is so good - I really must have another go! (I used an ink that was too light to see, and got lost last time I tried!!) Fab card!
