Whimsy Wednesday ~ Rustic Sugar Cinnamon Sweetness
Hello again my lovely friends. It's a busy week this week for me, how's yours going? I've a new creation to share with you today featuring one of the images I've coloured up the promotional cover art for. I just love these sweet Rustic Sugar images, so it's been pure pleasure colouring these cuties. They've been a really lovely addition to the Digital Vault at Whimsy Stamps this year. I love their sweet whimsical nature.
I have a brand new die set from Whimsy Stamps and I'm so excited as I've LOVED seeing others create with this set. The notched squares have been on my 'wish list' since they first hit the store! So I'm having fun creating with them and just love that additional finishing touch they add to a design. I've cut the base layer in black, as I had coloured the butterfly in black and red. I love the look of these sweet butterflies, so I kept the colours quite simple, taking my cue from nature and the gorgeous spotty paper I've used which is from a Whimsy Stamps digital set by Denise Lynn called Rainbow Polka Dots.
I coloured this cutie up with Copic Markers. I've used a denim combo to colour her sweet outfit and kept it all in one colour to keep the palette simple. I accented with red on her shoes and her hair clip. I cut the image into an oval and layered it up on foam for a bit of dimension.

I used an older Whimsy Stamps Butterfly Border die to cut some extra butterflies to add to the card. I trimmed the butterflies out of the border strip they were in and added them dotted around the image. I've always loved this border die and it's so nice to pull out the older stash to have a play. I finished the card with a simple wrap of black hessian twine and a little sentiment sticker from an older scrapbooking kit in my stash.
I used a cardstock with a nice sheen to it to cut the butterflies from, but decided to add a lil' extra sparkle and waved my magic Wink of Stella wand over all the butterfly diecuts. They look lovely in reality, when the light can catch the sparkles. The above shot shows the texture of the black cardstock really nicely too! So added bonus there.
We have some wonderful things happening over on the Whimsy Stamps Facebook page. There's always lots of inspiration from the talented design teams there, but we are also having some giveaways and fun happening on Valentine's Day, so be sure to check in! I wish you all a wonderful week and a Valentine's Day filled with love. See you again really soon xoxo

Extras From My Day...
I had such a lovely walk with the kiddies to and from school today. Here are a few of the Summer Blooms along our walk and a rather impressive naked Christmas tree, hehe. Auckland has such a lovely array of tropical foliage, I couldn't help snapping a few pics xoxo
