Whimsy Wednesday ~ May New Release!

Hey there crafty pals, I'm flying in today with our Digital New Release post for Whimsy Stamps. I had such a hard time choosing which creation to share first, as I've had such a lovely couple of days of creating with this gorgeous latest release. But I've settled on this enchanting fairy. The artist is of course the very talented Crissy Armstrong. There's just something about her images that I find quite mesmerising and this is for sure the case with this adorable creature. This is 'Wee Snippet' and I thought her sweet pose made for a lovely 'Thank You' card. I've been chasing light around the garden again, so my 'staged' photo came out quite dark. I'll share a couple that I took earlier in the day. The first, I was just playing with the idea of adding the 'thanks' die, so it's not actually stuck down! LOL. But the light in this shot is lovely and shows sweet Wee Snippet off really well.

This was the card before I added the 'thanks' die. I really loved it like this and the velvet ribbon shows so nicely and really 'features' with the card like this. But I felt it needed just a little finishing touch and once I added the sentiment, I was satisfied it was done.

I will try to retake my shot below tomorrow. I've been racing around today and not had a chance to take pics again since snapping this one. I do love the way that word die finishes the card too. I die cut a shadow from Vellum, as I thought it would look nice that way and I'm pleased I did. This die is fab, it has the main word die and two styles of shadow die! So there are several options of how to use it.

I've used the notched corner die to cut the plaid paper, added a doily, two strips of lovely velvet ribbon a decorative heart die layer to edge the image. I've popped up the image panel on foam for a bit of dimension. Finishing the card with the 'thanks' die sentiment. I just loved colouring up this cutie and did so with my Copic Markers.

Our May Digital Release at Whimsy is awesome, you can click through on the link above to check it out and the list of items I've used in this card will be listed below. I'll be back with another new release creation very soon, but in the meantime, I encourage you to check out the rest of the Design Teams gorgeous creations here on our Inspiration Blog. I'll be sharing some more of the DT's gorgeous designs on the 4th May too. So pop back then too. Wishing you all a wonderful remainder of your week. Hugs xoxo

Update: As promised, I've chased the light and had a wee play with backgrounds today, so here's my attempts to get a better pic. Not sure which I prefer of these backgrounds. Love to know your thoughts xoxo

A beautiful image Wends, and so beautifully coloured, and your mounting is exquisite.
The photo with the green background seems to make the card and image stand out more

Such a pretty card, Wends and I love the notched corner die. My poor old sis' house has been hit by a freak storm & is having to have major repairs, but as the trip is already booked we're coming over anyway. She'd already booked time off work so we'll just head off on a trip somewhere. Auckland dates aren't changing tho, so we get to Auckland on the evening of 17th July, flying out on the 20th. Will FB you! xxx
