Christmas at Sweet Stampin' ~ Summer Christmas

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. I'm back with my DT creation for Christmas at Sweet Stampin'. We've been shaking things up a bit this year and adding optional themes. This month, we'd love to see your creations for a Summer Christmas. Now you'd think I'd LOVE that being that I'm a Summer Christmas gal, but do you know, our culture here in New Zealand is so closely linked to the UK Christmas, that most of our Christmas cards still feature Winter scenes?! So this was not so easy for me, but I did recall a creation I made for my sister and her surf lovin' hubby a while back. I used an image that had a summer bedroom scene with a surf board. 

I used a gorgeous gingham paper that worked so well with the fabrics on the bed in the picture. This paper came from a visit to the Ally Pally craft fair many moons ago when I still lived in London and if I recall correctly was from Anna Marie Designs. I kept the design very simple, just adding a little die cut Christmas tree from a set of Christmas themed diecuts I had in my stash and I stamped the Christmas sentiment inside a digital sentiment circle and edged the scalloped circle with ink to finish it. I also edged the gingham background paper with ink to finish it. A very crisp clean design which I think definitely hints at a Summer Christmas!

It's a fun theme to try and in my hunt for stamps, I did actually find some real Summer Christmas cuties, which I will definitely have a go at colouring in the future. There's a super cute one from Di's Digis of Santa having a BBQ, can't get much more Kiwi Christmas than that!! We're looking forward to seeing what everyone is inspired to do.
