Southern Girls ~ Tic Tac Toe

Hey there my lovely crafty pals. It's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls and this fortnight, we are using a Tic Tac Toe board. You can choose any combination of three in a row, across or diagonal for this challenge. I've chosen the line Diecut, Stamp, Blue.

I adore this Whimsy Stamps image, she is Nerissa the Mermaid and it is of course the enchanting artistry of Marina Fedotova that brings her to life. I made this card for one of my sisters' birthdays this year. She is our 'mermaid' who loves all things nautical, so I love making her nautical themed creations. I've coloured the image with my BG Copics and added some rays in the water and stamped a few fish here and there.

I also used a gorgeous recent die set from Whimsy to create the fun diecut shells and seaweed. I used a mix of papers to do the diecuts for different textures and effect. I also stamped the seashells on the seabed from a lovely Whimsy Stamps clear stamp set called Let's Be Mermaids. The little fish are from this same Whimsy Stamps clear stamp set. The gorgeous nautilus shell paper is from the set She's So Reel by designer KimB Designs at The Digital Press.

I added Wink of Stella to the sun rays in the water, which I think looks so pretty when the light catches it, that real sparkle through water you get when the sun shines through from above. All her little beads, were treated to a touch of silver sparkle pen just after this pic was taken too, as I realised I'd forgotten to colour them! They look the same as here, only sparkly.

Here is our Tic, Tic, Toe board, to create your design from. It's a nice easy one I think. I hope you'll come and play along, it's always so lovely to see how crafty pals interpret a challenge like this. There's oodles of scope for creativity.

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is the New Zealand based craft company Krafter's Cart. They are a wonderful store, filled with all the best crafty bits and pieces for us Kiwi crafter's. They have a fabulous selection of Whimsy Stamps products and although this gorgeous stamp has now sold out there, there's still a wonderful selection from the Whimsy Stamps range including dies and stencils. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure. Until then, have a magical week. Hugs, Wends xoxo
