Happy Mother's Day ~ Whimsy Style
Crafty friends, it's Mother's Day here in New Zealand, which followed the way of my birthday, my crew forgot! LOL, though my little one mortified by this, made me the sweetest handmade, handcoloured card later in the day. I'm here however, to share the card that I made for MY mummy today. This post almost didn't happen, as my computer crashed today and nope, it's not repaired, it's gone, along with a whole bunch of my files, so let me remind you all right now, to back up your files! Super hubby helped me to set up for posting on a different computer, but I've no idea at this stage, quite how many images I've lost. A lot I would say, so a friendly reminder to back up regularly.
My mum loves the colour purple, so I have recoloured this gorgeous new Whimsy digital paper (as allowed in the terms and conditions, always check this!) to a violet hue and I really love how beautifully this worked! I used a fabulous shaker maker die from Whimsy to pop up a frame around the central panel, but much like my last creation where I didn't want to cover too much of the pretty paper, I've kept the design quite open and sparse. The sentiment is from a lovely older Whimsy set and is of course in the American spelling, so I had to carefully mask the centre of the 'o' to create a 'u' as here in New Zealand we call our mamas 'mum' not 'mom'. I just love the small sentiments that came in this set and found the perfect one for my mummy. I added some paper flowers from my stash to embellish this design, and some leaves I cut from a Whimsy Poinsettia die. The little butterflies were cut with companion dies that come in the shaker maker die. I cut a whole lot, but decided in the end, that one little butterfly was perfect to finish this creation. A few little gems to embellish it a bit was all it really needed.
Our latest Whimsy release is full of some absolutely enchanting images, so do pop through on the banner above to take a look at the whole line up. The Divas are over on the Whimsy Inspiration Blog today too with a line up of Crissy Armstrong's gorgeous images and our Wee Stamps Collection too. Plus some fun creations made for the 'mini release' of Deb Davis' gorgeous pug set 'Wrinkles', so head on over there to take a peek. Deb also has two beautiful sentiment sets out this month in digital, which are definitely worth a look at. I'll be back again soon with another crafty adventure, until then I wish you a beautiful Mother's Day, whatever this means for you. I celebrate my lovely Mummy, who we are blessed to still have with us. But I spare a thought now for all those who no longer have their mamas to celebrate. Hugs and love to you today. For all the women who are mamas in their hearts, but that never could be, hugs to you today; for the mamas who were, but lost their babies, hugs to you today and for the mamas who have embraced the babies of another as their own, hugs to you. I hope your day is blessed and beautiful xoxo

Also wanted so say thanks for stopping by my post a awhile back and leaving your comments. I went back to see if anyone did, totally convinced no one reads my blog anymore..and was surprised to see someone did. YOU. Thanks so much. I've been toying with stopping blogging altogether. I mean I feel that Instagram is so easy and easy to "tag" items. And unless I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog, no one really says anything. Thanks for taking the time. Hoping that you and your family are all healthy happy and and staying sane during these times. Wishing you all the best!
