Happy Easter ~ Whimsy Stamps April Digital Release

Hey my lovely crafty pals, I'm back with the first of my new release creations for Whimsy Stamps from our April Digital Release. It's another fabulous release and we have some last minute additions to the line up too, which I know a few of the crew will be having fun creating with, be sure to check it all out over on the Whimsy Store Site. I had a sweet Spring image which I wracked my brain to come up with some witty 'Spring Cleaning' sentiment to go with it, but couldn't find anything I was happy with. I was thinking of all the funny Pinterest memes for crafters where they can never finish cleaning because they just keep finding more 'shinies'! LOL. I just couldn't make the sentiment idea work, so opted instead to just stamp a background with some Spring and Easter words and hint at it being an Easter Spring card instead. Not what I had planned, but I love the blue in this creation, so it was fun to try my hand at making a stamped paper background.

It was also fun to use my Whimsy Nested Pierced Egg Dies to create the frame for the image too. I had great fun with my Copic Markers colouring up the background and the cute scene for the chickie's shower. I tried creating a rainbow effect to the bubbles, but have no idea what I'm doing, I think next time I'll use slightly darker shades for more definition to the bubbles. Must hunt out a tutorial for this! I love when I've seen it done! I added White Gelly Roll Pen accents after the colouring, Wink of Stella to the bubbles and White accents to the shower curtain and shower cap. Those little details can really bring a scene alive I think.

This make is another it was hard to capture the sparkle on, so it's not showing at all as it does in reality. The bubbles are shiny and sparkly and those little swirly accents also have a silvery sparkly Gelly Roll over them.

I couldn't find my anti-static powder bag when I was doing the embossing, so had to cross my fingers and hope for the best. Of course, it's impossible to get a really good impression without first using the anti-static powder, so the finish on this is not perfect. But isn't some of the charm of 'handmade' in the imperfections?! At least that's what I'm telling myself today!

Thanks for popping in to visit today, it's always so nice to know you've been here and I love reading your comments and do read each one that's left. I hope I'll get a chance to visit some of my blog pals tomorrow. I'm enjoying being home over Easter and catching up a bit. Life is constantly busy, so this weekend, apart from our family gathering for the Easter Hunt, we're having a very mellow calm weekend. (Okay it still involves getting the kids to and fro their events, but in between there's calm!) It's one of my crafty pals birthdays today, so sending big hugs and happy birthday wishes to you Susan! Hope you have a super spoily, lovely day. Big hugs to you all and I'll be back again very soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs xoxo
