Whimsy Stamps ~ Travel At Your Own Pace

Hey crafty pals, I'm popping in to share my last creation of April for Whimsy Stamps, yes, there were a few, unlike me I know! But I just couldn't resist creating with this cutie. I've been having some fun adventures with Washi Tape lately and since my little boy bought me the most gorgeous Washi Tape for my recent big birthday (pics to follow), I couldn't resist creating with that. So this fun scene was born.

I coloured up this cutie aptly called Travel At Your Own Pace from the Whimsy Stamps Sassy Cheryl Digital Collection and kept the scene quite sparse, so I could have a bit of a play with washi tape placement. I tore the top edge randomly and then quite liked how it looked a bit like a mountain range. This was unintentional so it was quite fun, when one of the washi tapes I had in my stash had lovely trees on it. I got the idea to hint at a mountain range with tree banks. A soft blue wash around the image for a bit of sky blue, a sweet sentiment and then I needed something to 'anchor' my design, so I used a couple of other washi tapes from the same lovely green set and finished the simple design with a number four. This will of course be going to a sweet four year old! I don't have loads of pics of this card. The light wasn't great for shooting this and I've had a crazy week. But I hope you get the gist. The dimension between the torn paper and the tree washi isn't so easy to judge in this pic, but the image panel is popped up on foam, so it's a nice bit of depth and dimension in the design.

This month has totally flown by for me, in fact I don't feel like I've caught my breath after my big birthday yet! Which was super fun and I had some truly spoily treats, which only fellow crafters could appreciate, so I'll share a few photos of my treats with you soon, today, I'll share the sweet washi tapes my son gave me. He knows his mama loves green, so his choice was spot on!

Well that's me for today folks, I wish you all a fantastic week. If you've not had a chance to check out our Digital Release this month at Whimsy you can click through on the banner above this pic to see them all. We had some real cuties! I'm finding it hard to believe we're about to head into May and my small boy is gleefully counting down the days to his birthday. We kinda LOVE birthdays in my house, it's definitely the day in the year, all the fuss is about you! Mine have passed with low key celebrations in recent years, but this year, all my family and friends made such a fuss and I was celebrated in great style, which was a real treat and took the sting out of turning 50 a bit! Big hugs and wishing you all an awesome week xoxo

what an amazing card Wends - it is absolutely gorgeous - beautifully coloured and I love your washi tape use on it.
Congrats on your 50th - you are just a spring chicken yet - glad you could and did celebrate in style - Covid cramped my 70th somewhat last year...
Stay safe
Blessings
