Whimsy Stamps ~ Dressed To Impress

Hey lovely crafty pals. It's time to share the June New Release at Whimsy Stamps and we have some super cute images to share with you this month! I had such a fun image to work with this month, a real cutie that made me think of some of the boys in our family. So I've coloured this up for one of my brother's in law. This fun image is from our Dustin Pike collection and is called Dudley Ties

I chose to create a slimline card with this cutie and liked the idea of paper piecing a couple of the ties, so chose papers to work with that in the slimline design. Alternating the paper designs in the background windows, made for a fun backdrop for this fun image. This Slimline Windows Die is one of the early ones released by Whimsy Stamps, who were the first to design these slimline dies. I have quite a number of these fabulous slimline dies. I really like the format and the fact that they fit within the standard postal rate, which for me, sending from New Zealand abroad quite often, is a real bonus!

I chose two black and white designed papers from Whimsy Paper Packs, as I wanted to keep the tie designs quite muted. So the one on his ear and round his neck were fussy cut from these two papers. I coloured the others with the same coloured markers for continuity and then fussy cut the image to add to the slimline base.

I coloured Dudley with Blue Green Copic Markers BG70, BG72, BG75 and BG78. I wanted a more muted tone for his body colour and love the serene finish of these blue green markers. I chose a nice golden combo for the tummy and stuck with those shades for the ties which I coupled with cool greys, repeating my colour theme. The goldy combo of markers is E99, YR24, Y35 and Y23.

The sentiment comes with a sweet Sassy Cheryl's image from our latest digital release. I had it printed already and thought it actually fit quite well with this image. So it was a simple and sweet finish to this card.

We have the most amazing line up of images this month and the team have been creating the most wonderful inspirational pieces with them so be sure to stop by and visit us at the Whimsy Facebook Group or on our Inspiration Blog, where the full line up will be shown. Wishing you all a wonderful week and I'll see you again very soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs xoxo
