Whimsy Stamps ~ Peace and Love

There's just something so 'peace, love and hippy thoughts' about this creation and I totally LOVE it! I pulled out some older ink I had in my stash which was one of those multi-tone inks in one pad and went to town with this gorgeous Marble Background Stamp from Whimsy Stamps. I often think that when you cut away areas after die-cutting that you lose half the design! So with this in mind, I have used a really cool frame, which you'll have seen me use a few times recently, because it's fabulous for this style of creation. I kept the outer frame which you'd usually throw away as waste and used this as my first and base layer, then I progressively built up the layers putting one layer of foam on the actual diecut frame, popping it up from the base, then with the central layer used two layers of foam so it really brings the focus and attention to the fabulous sentiment.

The beautiful background stamp I've used is a Whimsy Red Rubber Marble background stamp, and it's such a great size! Essentially a full 6x6 size which is great for me, because I love making 6x6 cards, so I was able to get really good coverage for the whole card base, making is possible to do the layering technique I wanted to. I lay the background stamp on the table with the cling back holding it firmly to the table and using the lovely multicoloured ink pad, worked in a wide circle to get the colours to radiate out from the centre of the image. I love that pop of zingy green in the middle.

That beautiful sentiment is from the clear stamp set called Positives and I think this background made such a pretty and striking backdrop for this lovely sentiment. There was so little else this card needed to finish this so I just added a few sparkly sequins from my stash. I had a lot of fun with this gorgeous background stamp and will show a couple more creations I made with it soon.

Thanks for popping in today. If you missed my earlier post, be sure to scroll back to see that. I've been a busy wee crafter the past few days and created more than I had time to blog! So I had several creations that needed sharing all at once. We are getting ready to share the October New Release and it's going to be such a fun month. We kick off this weekend with the a wonderful celebration of World Cardmaking Day! It's 'our' day! So I hope you'll come and join the fun we will be having over on the Whimsy Stamps Facebook Group.

We will be kicking off our New Release very soon and I am excited to share the creations I've made for October. We have such fun during October at Whimsy and you know how much I love the 'too cute to spook' Halloween fun, so you can be sure I've got busy with some of that! Until then, I wish you a wonderful day and happy crafting adventures. Hugs xoxo
