Whimsy Stamps ~ Thinking of You

Hey there crafty friends, who can believe we're about to enter March?! February has gone by in a blur for me with our big house move. 8 years in one place, I'd accumulated so much craft stash, I swear 1/3 of what we moved was craft gear! I so need a big clear out! I'm popping in today to share my last creation for February. It's March already here in New Zealand, but it's still Feb in the US! Just!

Don't you just love a scene with puffy clouds?! I thought this was a sweet sky background for this scene, so I pulled out my handmade stencil and created some puffy clouds to fill that background space and added the sweet sentiment from the Sketchy Florals Stamp Set directly to the cloudy scene with Memento Rich Cocoa Ink.

The rest of this sweet scene was easily made with the help of a fantastic slimline meadow die from Whimsy. I just love this fun die, there are multiple combinations possible and includes all those little extra details, the toadstools, the flowers, the wee bushes. The only thing not included in this fantastic die set is the cute bunnies which are of course from Crissy Armstrong's adorable clear stamp set called A Bunny Birthday and they're on sale right now too!

I ink blended the meadow and die cut it with the slimline frame, choosing which bits to work with. I diecut extra bushes in the ink blending that contrasted slightly with the main background. I used several green distress inks from the bright zingy Twisted Citron to the more muted Bundled Sage. I then splattered the background with a bit of water and watered down white paint for added interest. I laid out my scene and tucked the little elements in where I wanted them, popping in the wee bunnies last, once the scene was set.

Well that's it for today, thanks for popping in. I'll be back soon with our fabulous showcase for March. We will be kicking off a new challenge at Whimsy too, so there'll be another $25 Gift Certificate up for grabs. Come and join us with your Whimsy makes to be in with a chance for this lovely prize! Thanks for hanging in there with me through February, I'll see you in a few days with my first creation for March. Hugs and happy crafting xoxo
