Spellbinders ~ Sweet & Savory

Hey crafty pals, I'm back with my next creation for Spellbinders featuring their add on set that pairs with their Camper Life Die Set from their Warm Wishes Camper Christmas Collection. This add on set is called Sweet & Savory and though I say it's an add on set, it absolutely can stand on its own. I have used the coffee cup from the main Camper Life Die Set and the Pretzel from the Sweet & Savory Set. I just think they pair really well together and made for a fun 'Warm Winter Wishes' kind of theme. The Sweet & Savory Set has such fun elements to it, a doughnut, a pretzel, a slice of pizza with all the toppings, a hotdog and even a little bowl of noodles with chopsticks. Such a fun set and these elements can stand alone or be used in combination with the Camper Life Die Set.

I used the wonderful diecut sentiment set again from the Tinsel Time Collection. This set has just so many wonderful possible combinations of diecut sentiment, but I chose Winter Cheer for this card, as it really fit my theme so nicely. I chose a white shadow background so it set it apart from the darker embossed background, but opted again for the gold words, as these just bring such a lovely touch of shine and shimmer to the card.

I used the beautiful label and lattice from the Spring Label Motifs set to create the backdrop for the coffee scene. I just love the open lattice die, it's fun and whimsical and will look beautiful with blooms, I'll do one of those too, so watch for that make soon. But I really thought it was cute for this creation, almost like a lace tablecloth. I cut the lattice from white cardstock, but backed it with a lovely shimmery brass toned cardstock, so I backed it with a lovely bright white doily. I cut the doily just as I did in my previous Spellbinders make, to make it an oval doily to fit the shape of the label better and also, so it didn't cover the beautiful embossed background too much. With all the warm tones in this card, I just had to finish it off with the lovely Peach Opalescent Color Essentials Sequins I used on the previous Spellbinders creation I shared, they just work so nicely with the goldy tones on this make.

The gorgeous embossing folder is one from my stash, I just loved this when I saw it and thought it would be a gorgeous backdrop on some pretty shimmery cardstock. I have a number of these lovely pearlescent metallic cardstocks and they just look delish embossed like this. This cardstock is 285gsm, a heavy weight robust cardstock which stands up to embossing very well. The lovely embossing folder is from Spellbinders and is called Hand Drawn Scallops. I just know this is going to get lots of use, because it's a very versatile design, adding a simple bit of interest, but not detracting from the main feature of the card. It's not a 3D embossing folder, but it has a gorgeous depth of detail and I think it's fun that the pattern is one you could use any way up.
