Whimsy Stamps ~ A Good Life

Hey crafty friends, Happy 2023! I'm excited to be kicking off my creative year with a sweet creation for Whimsy Stamps. One of my kiddos has just had a gorgeous holiday up North at our family bach on a lovely secluded beach and done lots of swimming and tramping. My brother and Mum took them up and I wanted to say thank you for the special moments they will have shared together. So my first card of the year, is a thank you card to them for that. 

I took a navy blue cardstock and splattered with with green and blue mica stains to give a fun sparkly sky look. I did the whole panel, so it would look like the sky was reflected in the water, which it does, if you hold it at the right angle in the light. Tricky to capture in a still shot. The waves I created by using the edge of the It's Snowing Stencil to create the crest of the wave, I then used the Making Waves Stencil to create the ripples and waves of the water. I used a white pigment ink from my stash for this.

The sentiment comes from a lovely stamp set called Enjoy the Journey. Happy Memories of childhood mean so much, so it's a nice way to say thank you to my brother for taking my teenager for some R&R. I silver heat embossed the sentiment after prepping the panel with an anti-static tool and stamping the sentiment in versamark ink. 

I used some Fairy Dust Stencil Paste to add some extra stars through the Twinkle Cluster Stencil from Whimsy Stamps. Just a couple of little clusters of stars, left and right of the image for some added night sky detail. The adorable little otter is from the Crissy Armstrong stamp set called Otter Variety 2 Clear Stamps. This cutie hanging out in the water, was a gorgeous image for the thank you card I wanted to create. Crissy sure brings the cute factor to her stamp sets. LOVE her sweet designs.
