Whimsy Stamps ~ Little Sweetheart
Hey crafty friends, I've been having a whole lot of fun with a fabulous stamp set from Whimsy Stamps which is perfect for Valentine's Day and all occasions celebrating love. I've made several different designs with this set but my favourite one is the pink one which I turned into a new baby card. I made it first without the baby image, but felt it was a perfect backdrop for a new baby card. I'll show you the other version too later in the post.
This utterly enchanting baby image is from a delightful new baby set by Crissy Armstrong called Babies from Above. There are several adorable images in the set but I thought this little cutie was the perfect fit for this card design. I created the background with the wonderful FaDoodle Hearts Stamp Set, which I've used for several creations I've created lately. I will share the other very soon. But for this version, I stamped the hearts in Versamark Ink and then used a lovely glitter embossing powder from Wow called Magenta Twinkle.
I ink blended some spun sugar in the background before adding the embossing, so it didn't look too stark on the white cardstock. The wee babby I used soft R colours from my Copic Markers to give that dewy pink newborn skin tone, R01, R00 and R000. I coloured the blanket with R81, R83 and R85. The Heart Word Die was taken from a longer phrase, but just that portion fit perfectly for this card and I love the way it worked out. I double layered the word before adding it to the banner die. I wrote over the stamped sentiment with Kaisercraft Sparkle Pens. Final touch was to diecut the entire panel with the lovely Wonky Stitched Rectangles before adding the sentiment banner. I then added the panel directly to the card base, but popped up the sentiment banner and the sweet baby image with foam tape for a bit of dimension.
As promised, here is the pic of the card before adding that sweet babe. I love it both ways! I think it's perfect just like this, but I do really love the sweet note that wee baby image added to this design. Which is your favourite? I'd love to know.
