Sweet Stampin ~ Sweet Spring Days
Hello crafty friends, I'm here with my Sweet Stampin' creation for our Spring/Easter challenge. I had such fun colouring up this enchanting image from A Day For Daisies. The image is called My Lily and was created by Tammy the artist of A Day For Daisies, capturing a moment with her little one on a Spring day.
I decided to try and make it look as though she were walking through long grass, so inked the grass right up to her dress. I did come in with some grass like strokes but they're not overly obvious in the picture. I went for a moody Spring rains kind of sky as the backdrop. I love how that turned out. The sky was done with Weathered Wood and Speckled Egg. The grass I'm pretty sure I used Pine Needles and Salvaged Patina. Gosh, I really need to make a habit of writing these things down, because if I don't blog the card straight away, I just forget. Is it just me? I did find I'd captured the lids in a couple of photos (not used here) which is a good reminder.
I coloured the image with Copic Markers and used Distress Oxide Inks to create the scene around her. I masked her to do this. I diecut the finished panel with an older Whimsy Stamps frame die that has this lovely double stitched border, one of my favs. I mounted the image over a doily and onto a top folding card base I made from some lovely white embossed Doodlebug paper I've had in my stash for years. I completed the design by tying some dusky pink thread around the card base and tying a bow before adding the layers. The image panel is popped up on double sided foam for a bit of dimension.
Thanks for popping in to visit today. I hope you will come and join us over at Sweet Stampin' for our Spring/Easter Challenge. Do pop in to check out the gorgeous creations my talented teamies have made for this challenge too! Wishing you a wonderful week. Hugs, Wends xoxo
