Whimsy Stamps ~ Beautiful Butterfly

Hey friends, I'm popping in with my last share for July, August is right around the corner and I'm going to be having fun creating for Halloween in August. I'm designing with the Whimsy Stamps Halloweeners Team this year, which is a super exciting thing for me, because as you know if you've been following my blog any length of time, I LOVE creating Halloween makes. I've got some really fun creations in the pipes and I cannot wait to share them with you. We will be starting the month with an Instagram Hop, so I hope you'll come and join us there to celebrate kicking off our Halloween term. In the meantime however, I have this pretty card to share with you today.

I've ink blended a background onto a lovely scalloped edge card base. I used Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide inks and then splattered with a pearlescent ink and a gold ink to finish the background. 

I stamped the beautiful butterfly from Whimsy Stamps with a gradient ink to get the lovely ombré effect on the wings and then diecut the image with the matching die. I bent up the wings slightly to get a bit of dimension on the butterfly. I used a gold glitter pen to add some sparkle to the body of the butterfly too.

I gold embossed a lovely sentiment from the Whimsy Stamps Beaucoup Bouquet Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. This set has so many beautiful sentiment options. I've used it a lot. The gold embossing was a simple and elegant way to finish this card. I gave this card to my boss at my old job for her birthday and it went over very well, which was lovely.

Thanks for popping in today, I hope you enjoyed seeing this crafty adventure. Some simple ink blending, gold splatters and a showstopping feature stamp, made this a relatively quick make. I'm running out of these pretty scalloped edge card blanks, which I bought back in the UK, they were the Craft UK ones. I've been saving them for just this sort of make and I love the elegant finish it gave this card.
