Whimsy Stamps ~ Snuggle Weather

Hey crafty friends, I'm sharing another creation I've made using elements from Whimsy's December Release. I decided for this card, to use the stamped elements to create an embossed resist background adding lots of warm rich cosy Winter colour.

I stamped the sweet icons from the set in white embossing powder all over the Mini Slimline card panel, ensuring I stamped some of them off the page. I also ensured I filled the outer areas of the card panel well and top and bottom well, but left a bit of space in the upper centre as I wanted to add the sentiment there.

I used a Gina K Mini Slimline Panel for the blending panel and ink blended the background with a mix of warm toned Oxide Inks. In the centre of the panel I used Festive Berries, then moved out from the centre with Lumberjack Plaid and finally added the dark warm hues of Ground Espresso to bring a rich chocolate tone to the outer edges. I buffed off the ink with a cloth from the embossing to bring back the white finish. The colour of my white embossing ink is more of an off-white than bright white, which I think was a nice tone for this warm tone creation.

I forgot to use my anti-static tool for some of the earlier images I stamped, so there were a few extra stray bits of powder, which I didn't notice when the panel was white, but showed once the ink was added, it wasn't bad enough to start over again, I just chalk it up to 'handmade' irregularities. But I did make a mental note that I need to remember the anti-static powder from the get-go next time.

I ink blended a small area with Festive Berries and then diecut it with the largest of the frames matching the frame shape I chose to diecut the golden frame. I cut this gold frame before cutting apart the largest die to cut the sentiment panel with, which gave me a lovely narrow gold frame. I cut several in different cardstocks before cutting apart the frames. I may end up getting a second die set so I can have one for the open frames and one to create narrow frames, as they look so nice as narrow frames.

I stamped the sentiment with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and mounted the framed panel on foam for a bit of dimension and interest. I couldn't figure out where to add random embellishments on this make with all the stamping, so decided to add them in a more uniform way in two corners and I think this finished the card perfectly.

Thanks for popping in to visit today. I hope you enjoyed my emboss resist creation, mistakes and all! I will be back with another creation using this fun new Whimsy release very soon and I will have more Christmas cards to share soon too. Wishing you a wonderful weekend and happy crafting. Hugs, Wends xoxo
