Whimsy Stamps ~ They Come In Threes!

Hey crafty friends, you know I told you I'd created three cards with this adorable Flamingo Summer Clear Stamp Set from Whimsy, usually I'd share a set together, but these were all so different, I decided to share them one by one and here is the final instalment. Though they're so cute, you can count on more down the track!

I started this flamingo adventure out with a stencilled background using Shabby Shutters Distress Oxide Ink and the fantastic Harlequin 6x9 Stencil from Whimsy, my absolute favourite stencil right now. I just love it! I took some leaves which I'd coloured up the same way I did in the first of the flamingo makes I shared, with the Hero Arts Ombré Ink Pads. It was a fun way to get a bit of tropical colour quickly on the foliage. I watercoloured the centres of the foliage with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and as I shared in a previous post, used an old Wink of Stella brush pen that had run out of fluid. I refilled it with water and now use it as a water colour brush. It leaves a soft sparkle on everything with what was left in the Wink of Stella chamber. So pretty in the right light!

I created a little mound of foliage for the flamingo to stand on and added white highlights to the flowers and to the flamingo with a Gelly Roll pen. I stamped the sentiment which is in part taken from the Flamingo Stamp Set, but the Scrummy word is taken from the Cheeky Sentiments Clear Stamp Set from Whimsy. I love this word and the pose that the flamingo is doing, well I just think the combo is perfect!

I added a tiny trim top and bottom of gold glitter washi tape and mounted the design on a beautiful shimmery UK A6 sized card base from Sizzix if I recall correctly. I can't find a link to the product any longer but this cardstock has the most beautiful sheen to it and is a lovely heavy weight. I think it paired so well with this beautiful flamingo. I showed the card against a pink envelope in the first shot as I think it really makes the flamingo 'pop', but the image above shows the lovely green matching envelope from the set, which is the correct size for this card, so it will posted in this. But honestly, how gorgeous are those Bubblegum envelopes from Gina K? Love the colour!

We've just had a new release over at Whimsy and oh my goodness, it's so good! Those pandas just melt me! I will be back very soon with another crafty adventure, we are having a special blog hop over the weekend. It kicks of on Saturday, but you'll have a few days to join in before a winner is chosen. It's being sponsored by Online Card Classes, which I'm super excited about, because I LOVE their classes.

If you don't know them, this business was set up by crafty gurus Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire and they regularly run creative classes for a really reasonable fee and have the most talented and wonderful guest teachers from the craft industry working with them too. So come hop with us and be in for a chance to win the class of your choosing! There are even three wonderful Tim Holtz classes, so well worth exploring. All the details are on the banner above and I've linked it to the Whimsy IG account as they will be our first stop on the hop. Easy peasy to follow! I'll be back soon with my crafty adventure for the Hop, until then, hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo

(I've added thumbnails to make your shopping easier if you like any of the elements I've created with. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever, though more importantly it helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
