Sweet Stampin' ~ Spots and Stripes

Hey crafty friends, we have a fun but relatively simple new challenge theme today of Spots and Stripes at Sweet Stampin' and for the first time in a long while, I found some time to sit and colour recently. So I pulled out a super cute Lili of the Valley little witch which I just adore and coloured her up rather sweetly in warm pinks and oranges. It was lovely to use my Copic Markers again after a while of neglecting them. I really need to fill some and clean a few, but they are still such a favourite colouring medium for me, the hues are just gorgeous and always so rich and vibrant. My paler blues were dry, so I pulled out some deeper blues, I think they were B14 and B12.

This little witch I bought as part of a Magical Halloween Bundle digital set of little witches from Lili of the Valley. I just think these witches are super cute. I adore the art of Annabel Spenceley. She has been designing for Lili of the Valley for quite a few years now and I have collected so many of her sweet images. It was lovely to sit and colour this one up recently. I was only able to get this one pic, as my phone is having battery issues right now. I'll be getting it replaced this week. I used a sentiment from a sweet Tim Holtz Stamper Anonymous Stamp Set and used VersaFine Clair Ink in Pinecone to add the sentiment straight to the image base. I've used a white gelly roll to add the polka dot details to her jumper and a few highlights to the pumpkin and her hat. I used a cute plaid paper from Memory Box, from a set called Christmas Plaid. It's a much older paper pad, but these plaids are fabulous! The cute frame die is from Whimsy Stamps, called Sprinkles Scallops Rectangle Die Set. So I've snuck in some Spots and Stripes, think I made the brief!

Thanks for popping in to visit friends. Be sure to check out my talented teamies creations from Sweet Stampin' too and come join our Spots and Stripes challenge if you're able, we'd love to see what you're inspired to create! Have a wonderful day and happy crafting. Hugs, Wends xoxo

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)

As You Like It: Favourite Cardbase Shape and Why? I have always loved square cards. I find myself making lots of A2 size cards now as I design for an American card company, but my early cardmaking days I lived in London and I always loved making square cards in many sizes, 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7 even 8x8! I just loved the extra real estate the square shape gave when creating and I find myself going back to this card shape whenever I can. So yes, I love a square card shape.
