Spellbinders ~ Kinetic Kids Christmas Cards

Hey crafty friends, I'm back with another of the kinetic Christmas cards I'm making for the nieces and nephews this year. This one is a Nutcracker set, but I've omitted the little teeth section and made him up as a toy soldier. I just love how it came out too. Super fun and I do think the kiddos are going to have such fun with these sets at Christmas.

I used the Holiday Lights 3D Embossing Folder again for this background, but this time, left the lights white so nothing detracted from this gorgeous toy soldier. I layered up the soldier, adding all his little details. I love the gold details especially. These Spellbinder dies are so fabulous and I've really enjoyed the extra detailing they add to these sets to make the assembly of these sets so very easy. There are little indented guides where little layers need to be added, which makes the whole compilation, so quick and easy. I used Copic Markers to add colour to his face and I used white felt to diecut his hair and beard and moustache. Looking at him here, I've just realised I forgot to add the details to his cuffs, but it's the only bit I missed, so not the end of the world and quick and easy to add before I give it away. I used a fun shimmery black cardstock for his hat and cuffs on his boots, so I think I'll use that same one for the cuffs on his sleeves.

I took this pic above before I'd adhered the gems to his hat, the top pic shows those in place. But I wanted to share this pic for the cute swing in his legs. I forgot to do this with the later pics I snapped. There's not a lot extra to say about this wee make. I've done the card as a Mini Slimline, which shows the versatility of these sets. The moose I made on an A7 card base. Any of these sets would be perfect on a slimline card as they're so long and slender in design. The first design I showed from these Dancin' sets was the Swedish style gnome and that was a full slimline size. I've done a cute Christmas Tree design too, which I'll share very soon. I still need to do a fifth design as we've 5 younger kiddies who will all enjoy these kinetic cards, but I'll but my thinking cap on for that last one. I may revisit one of the designs I did a couple of years back which were a dancin' Santa and a sweet wee deer. You may recall them. You can see those post here and here. Those previous sets have shorter legs, where as these new sets are quite tall and the swing is quite wide and lots of fun, so I may just do another of the current sets, but in a different colour way. Watch this space!

Spellbinders has a fab BetterPress and Foil-Fest Sale section above. I'm a big fan of the Betterpress and so wish I could make the most of this sale here in New Zealand, but postage is steep, so I'll leave it to you UK and US crew to benefit from this fabulousness! I think it will be well worth a look! You can click through on the banner above for a direct link. You can easily click through to the UK store from there if you're shopping in the UK. These links cost you no extra whatsoever and I so appreciate you using these links if you are shopping. Companies I'm invited to design for use these links to track my contributions and I'd love to be invited back. I'll be back soon with another crafty adventure. In the meantime, have a beautiful and creative week. Hugs, Wends xoxo

I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
