Sweet Stampin' ~ Anything But Square
Hey crafty friends, it's time for a new challenge at Sweet Stampin' and this time we are having an 'Anything But Square' challenge. I have pulled out my favourite 'shaped' dies for this challenge. They're no longer in production as the company has closed down, which I'm really sad about, because back in the day, they were a favourite through the UK. The brand was Go Kreate and they used to sell a gorgeous range of large shaped dies for cutting wonderful card shapes and layers. I've used their XXL Square Frilly No.10 Die for the card frame and layers. I love this die set, it's my favourite from their range and it was lovely to pull it out for the card I made for my big sister's birthday this year.
We are both at 'that' age, so I used a sentiment that might give her a bit of a giggle. This is from a stamp set by another company that's closed. CAS-ual Friday had some really fun sets and this sassy set is one of my favourites of theirs too. My sis had gone skiing for her birthday, so it was fun to colour up this gorgeous image as her for the card. This image is from Cute Bee Stamps. I was so happy to see Berenice come back with this new line. She previously had stamp lines under different names, so it was lovely to see her curating a new line of Digital Images for sale. The artist responsible for these images has a really lovely style and this image was so perfect for my gorgeous sister, for her birthday.
For those of you who like to know the Copic colours used, I made a little note before I fussy cut the image out. I used E50,51,53, 55 and E44 for her hair. I used E70, 71 and 74 for her coat and I used E40, 41, 42, 43 and 44 for her jumper. I stippled the fluffy part of the jacked with the same colours I used for the jumper to give that fluffy trim look. I used dark greys for the ski mask and went over that with some shimmer ink, which you can see better in the image below.
Thanks for popping in to visit and I'll be back with another crafty adventure very soon. Hugs and happy crafting, Wends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
