Whimsy Stamps ~ Woodland Santa Quick Card Fronts

Hey crafty friends, I have a gorgeous set of cards to share with you today, using both of the Woodland Santa Quick Card Fronts. I couldn't resist getting both sets. These remind me so much of Swedish Tomten and I wanted both lovely background designs. They're similar, but subtly different.

I think the two sets are just gorgeous and really like both backgrounds. I've used an image from the second set for the Winter Solstice card you see below. The sentiments were stamped in VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink using the Winter Solstice Clear Stamp Set from Whimsy. It has such a lovely range of sentiments and images and it's on sale right now too! I think it fit perfectly the feel of this rustic card. I paired this panel with the brown ombré stamped background. I used Simon Say Stamp Latte, Cappuccino and Mocha inks for this ombré ink combination. The lovely texture was created with Whimsy's Scratchy Plaid Background Stamp.

The other two panels, I used green inks also from Simon Says Stamp. These are the Artichoke and Cabbage green inks. I used only the two for this ombré effect. I stamped the sentiments with VersaFine Clair Shady Lane ink on the two panels with green backgrounds. This sentiment was taken from the Warm Fuzzies Clear Stamp Set. Such a cute set with adorable images too!

For each of these panels I added three little snowflake embellishments. I didn't want to add more, but just enough for a subtle touch of texture and interest. Each image panel was diecut with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die Set too for a bit of extra interest to the edge of each image panel.

I took an SBC Glitter Brush Marker in Christmas Ivy Green and added a soft bit of deeper colour and touch of sparkle to the fir tree fronds each character is holding. Not easy to see unless you're up close, but it does add depth and interest to the panel. The lovely Santa above, has a sentiment from the Nativity Clear Stamp Set. I just felt these sentiment sets resonated well with these beautiful images.

I absolutely love how these turned out and I know I'll be making some more cards with these gorgeous Woodland Santas. But right now, I ought to be packing for our trip back to our hometown. It's a pretty big drive, 8 hours with stops and we're leaving early, so I need to get to bed now. Still a little packing to do in the morning, but we're mostly sorted, so fingers crossed will get away in good time. Thank you friends for popping in to my blog today and for your visits this year. It means the world to me, that folks still seek out my little corner of the blogosphere. I still have more creations to share which I've made but yet to share, so fingers crossed I'll find some time in the next few days. Hugs and Happy Christmas to those of you who celebrate. A peaceful and beautiful Holiday Season to those of you who do not, Wends xoxo
