Whimsy Stamps ~ Sweet Treat Boxes
Hey crafty friends, we've had a storm warning and the emergency alerts are going off on my phone like crazy. We've battened down the hatches and prepped for the storm, I settled my nerves with a little colouring this afternoon. I did some no-lines colouring for two of these cute images. I'm trying to do 'hard things' and I'm still not comfortable with this colouring option, but I'm trying and having fun in the trying.
I created sweet little treat boxes for the neighbours kids with some left over Easter treats. I had started these boxes, but not completed them for Easter, so decided these were a nice idea to give the kiddos today and managed to deliver them before the storm began.
I've used the lovely papers from the Eggstra Bunnies paper pack to diecut the Peekaboo Treat Boxes from. I made the mistake of doing one of them upside down! So, note to pay attention to which is the top and bottom of the box when laying the die over the paper.
I've used an older die from my stash to create the little background panels. I tried all sorts of shapes and sizes from my dies, but this was the one which gave the best 'canvas' to sit the sweet characters on. So forgive me that it's now out of production, but it was such a popular die, there will be a few of you at least who still have this in your stash. It was of course the Notched Squares Die Set which I still love and use. You can't beat timeless stash!
I used some lovely new paper from Scrapbook.com to create the little backdrops for the characters. These have a nice sheen to them and a woven texture which looks so lovely. I've used the Glacier Blue, Fern on the box with the cute duck and Willow Green on the box with the bunny holding the blue egg. I filled the boxes with a mix of small left over Easter eggs and these cute little animal chocolate treats. They have a creamy chocolate centre and are so delicious!
I completed the boxes with some little May Arts twine bows and a tiny heart charm on each box for a sweet finishing touch. I delivered these to our 3 littlest neighbours and now it's time to tuck in and ride out the storm. Wish us luck friends! I'll check in again soon and hopefully if all is well, get some crafting done. Happy crafty weekend friends xoxo
(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
