Whimsy Stamps ~ Gourds and Pumpkins Tiny Card
Hey crafty friends, I'm back with a tiny card today. This sweet card is tiny, it measures almost 4 1/8 wide and 3 3/8 high. I decided with my mojo going AWOL lately I'd shrink the canvas and see what happened and I really love how this turned out! A shimmery sentiment, some fussy cut gourds and pumpkins, a little ink blending in the bottom left corner and I had the beginnings of a pretty cute little card.
I had coloured these gorgeous gourds and pumpkins from the Krista Heij-Barber stamp set by Whimsy Stamps a while back, you may recall I shared that colouring on IG here. I adore this Gourds and Pumpkins set from Whimsy Stamps. The way they're drawn is charming and possibly my favourite pumpkins ever. Krista Heij-Barber has a way with charming imagery and I adore this set. It happens to be on sale right now too! So if you like this set too, be sure to check out the Whimsy Sale Page! There are a number of really fabulous stamps and dies on sale right now.
As mentioned you may recall I shared the coloured pumpkins and gourds a while back. I just didn't have a design idea until now. I can sit with colouring for some time before creating. It doesn't always flow instantly on to a creation always for me. But I was hunting through some left over elements in my stash and found an Autumn Word Die cut from some paper I had treated with Mica Spray Stains and Spiced Marmalade Spritz and the idea to combine these elements was born.
I'd picked up a little pack of envelopes and almost ATC sized card fronts from a local craft store a few days ago, thinking the smaller size could be fun to explore. I've shared tiny cards similar to this before. I'm always intrigued by different card sizes and shapes. Whimsy recently released a really fabulous download based on popular card sizes including slimline and mini slimline. If you're part of their Facebook Group scroll down to find the post in the feed and grab that download, it's a fab reference!
I love how the Mica and Spritz turned out on this word die! I used Cracked Leather Cardstock as the base, which gives such a fun texture and really love what this adds to this design. In the right light it comes alive with shimmer and shine. It's a bit of a scene stealer to be honest! I've used the Mica Spray Stains a lot in my Halloween makes, but not so much in other makes and need to remedy that, because they're gorgeous.
I kept the rest of the design quite simple, I pulled a tiny hello word from another stamp set to complete my sentence. I'd like it to have said 'hello Autumn' but it looked better with the hello word following. I still have some of these coloured gourds and pumpkins, so will have to make another Autumn themed card soon. It's positively Autumnal here in New Zealand right now, we have the cool crisp evenings and chilly nights, but bright clear beautiful days. The leaves are turning and I'm in my happy place. Autumn is my favourite season!

(I share thumbnails to the elements I design with in order to make your search for them easier, in case you like something I've used. I do use affiliate links where possible, which gives me a tiny commission but costs you no extra whatsoever. It helps the companies I design for to improve their marketing practice and track my contributions. I am deeply grateful if you use them for these reasons. I am proud to design for the companies I do and always feel happy to share where my inspiration and where my crafty stash comes from. I am occasionally gifted products to use, but I only design for companies whose products I absolutely love and buy for myself. My opinions are always my own.)
