The Beauty of Dreams
I made this card up for my brothers birthday. It was the first card I actually tried stitching on with my new sewing machine. I was chuffed to bits with how it came together! I printed the image onto a digital paper, which had a great Kraft card like finish and used another lovely digital paper in the background which had a similar colour palette and very cool clock face which worked well with the theme I had for the card.
I printed the sentiment onto a plain white cardstock, and it looked so stark against the other papers, that I gave it the 'used teabag' treatment, just to blend the tones in a bit better. It worked really well, so I was delighted. I love this Eleanor Roosevelt quote, it's so inspiring and was perfect for my brother's birthday card. I matted the sentiment onto Kraft card and then mounted it on the card using foam pads for a little extra dimension.
The image is a free printable from the craft website J&C Creations. I just loved this image, it so reminds me of my Grandpa and Uncles who are farmers. But worked well too for a card for my brother, when paired with the fab sentiment, to encourage him to hang tight to his dreams. I finished the card very simply with a wrap of twine and knotted it to finish. Very CAS but so fun to try out some machine stitching on this card.
That's all for today's make. I hope you have enjoyed popping by my blog. Love to hear your thoughts on this one. See you again soon. Hugs, Wends x

I can't make male cards and I can't sew either so I'm terribly jealous!
You've got the perfect balance here with a fab image, a beautiful sentiment, great colours and the twice finishes it off so perfectly.
Love this.
