Woops, silly me! Dream Valley Challenge
So, a whole month of feeling poorly really does addle the brain apparently! I just posted my DT card for Dream Valley (have sent it back to draft now) then realised, I was a fortnight early for that challenge and have completely forgotten to do a card for Easter! Oh dear!!
I have however just added a sweet Sugar Nellie card I've made to the Sugary Sunday Facebook challenge. Love those challenges. Sugar Nellie's are some of my favourite stamps! So I thought I'd share that wee make with you here now, in the glaring absence of my Dream Valley Easter DT card. Sorry girls! Hanging head in shame! Please go and check out what my amazing team mates have done for our Easter Challenge. Their creations are stunning!
I made this card for one of my darling New Zealand pals who lives down in the Wellington area, where we used to live before we moved to the UK. We were both in the UK at the same time for a while and spent some really treasured times together. So it's been wonderful catching up again since we've returned home. This stamp was perfect for her, as she got a new puppy this past year and is so loving having a girl in her family, amongst her four boys! 3 sons and a hubby, so of course she had to be a girly pooch! This lovely Sugar Nellie stamp called 'Fifi Goes Shopping' was the perfect choice for her birthday card.
The pretty paper I used is from a really old paper pad in my stash, which came with one of my favourite UK magazines 'Cardmaking & Papercraft' as a freebie a couple of years ago. The paper is called floral fantasy by Louise Tiler. I had some pearlescent cardstock which toned in with this perfectly, so I cut my mat from this using Spellbinders Nestabilities 'Labels - Twenty Six'. I've edged the image and paper in 'Vintage Photo' Distress Ink. The Sentiment is from a lovely set by Tina Wenke for Stampavie called 'With Love'.
The Cherry Blossoms, Gardenia and Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Frosted Berries are from Live and Love Crafts. My two favourite stores for all my paper flowers. I finished the flower spray with a twist of the flower stems tucked in here and there and a pretty heart shaped pin. The ribbon and lace is from my stash and the pearls are from MeiFlower. The corner die is a Quickutz photo corner scallop die. I love this lil' die, it works on so many card styles. Possibly the most versatile little die I own!
Finally, an 'arty' shot of the card and that's it from me today. Sorry not to have a lovely Easter make yet for the Dream Valley Challenge. But as I said earlier, do pop on over to the main challenge blog to drink in a little inspiration from my talented teamies and come on back soon. You never know, I may have actually got my act together and produced an Easter card! Thanks for stopping in. See you all again soon. Hugs, Wends x
