Dream Valley Fairy

It's time for the next Dream Valley Challenge and this time we want to see things with wings. Which of course, always makes me think of fairies. It'll be interesting to see how many others choose that option too. I've chosen a sweet Lili of the Valley fairy called 'On Tiptoe' which I've coloured up with my trusty Promarkers blending shades of pink and mauve to get this tonal effect. I actually coloured up this fairy quite a while ago, but as with a number of my images, it sat waiting to be given to the right person. So I made the card up a good while after she'd seen ink. I was following a great tutorial on the Lili of the Valley site when I inked her up, which you can find here if you like the 'two tone' effect.

I've gone for a really simple layout using fabric as the backing. The square of fabric was from a set I picked up in Muswell Hill near where we used to live in London. It was from a sweet wool and craft shop and came already cut with pinking shears, ready to use. I have several more to use yet, but it's a matter of finding the right thing to pair them with. I knew this fairy was perfect for this fabric square and I coloured her to work in with the tones in the fabric. Here's the card shot from a different angle, in a slightly different light, which better shows the glitter on the wings and underskirt.

My layout is very CAS adding only pearls, a chipboard sentiment and lettering from my quickutz alphabet set to add the wee poppets name that I made this card for. A light touch of Stickles on the wings and the underskirt and that's really it. The scalloped mat is a Spellbinders Nestabilities die called 'Classic Scalloped Circles Large'.

Do pop in to the Dream Valley Challenge Blog to see what the rest of the team have been up to. Their creations are fabulous and everyone has a slightly different take on the challenge. So it's a lot of fun. Kenny K is our sponsor this time so a fabulous prize is up for grabs. Why don't you find your favourite 'things with wings', ink it up and come join us for this challenge. Thanks for popping into my lil' blog, it's always lovely to have you visit. See you again soon. Hugs, Wends x
