Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas in September

Here we are with our last Fab 'n' Funky challenge for September, so yup, you know it, it's a Christmas challenge. I've been really loving these this year. It feels so good to get ahead with the Christmas makes. I wanted to try something a little different this time though, so for this challenge, I've actually chosen to make a Christmas gift bag and man am I stoked with how this came out. We are spoilt rotten to have the fabulous Doodle Pantry sponsor us this challenge.

I just love the Doodle Pantry image Jolly St Nicholas, which was provided by our wonderful sponsor for this challenge. The rest of the team have made some gorgeous creations with their Doodle Pantry images too. So be sure to head to the Fab 'n' Funky Challenge blog and check those out. Better still, head on over and join in the fun! You can create anything you like, as long as it's for Christmas, how fab is that?! Here's my wee gifty bag all dressed up with as yet, no where to go! LOL.

I've used a lovely spotty grey paper I picked up on a trip to Sweden to visit my best pal there. It's from Panduro Hobby and was from a Christmas themed loose paper stack. I've used one of my square doilies here too, which I've used a couple of times recently but thought it would be perfect for this make and I love how it turned out. The central designer paper is from the 'Home for Christmas' Papermania set and I drew my inspiration for this layout from the red and grey combination in this paper. I've matted the image with a narrow striped paper which is a digital paper from Pink Petticoat. All the papers have been edged with my London Fog Memento ink.

I added a little stickles glitter glue to the pom pom on St Nick's hat and some glossy accents to the berries, otherwise it's just straight up Promarkers with a little shading in the beard.

The tags also come from the Papermania 'Home for Christmas' set, which I added a die-cut snowflake to. The snowflake was cut from off white paper with a pretty sheen to it using my Marianne Designs 'Eline's Xmas Star' die. I tied the two tags with the snowflake between to the bag using red and white bakers twine and some silver wrapping cord.

I encourage you to pop on over to check out the rest of the DT crews fabulous creations and check out the gorgeous makes by our wonderful new GDT's Alison and Helen. They've done an awesome job of their first GDT creations for Fab 'n' Funky, so give them a warm hello and leave them some love on their blogs. Waving hello to you both, welcome to the crew! I'll leave you with another peek at the finished bag, taken in a slightly different light. I do so wish I could sort out a consistent light for my photo taking, they all come out slightly different!

Have an awesome day and I'll catch you all again soon with my next DT adventure, that's due, so I'm off to have some last minute fun with that. I've been chasing my tail all week! Big hugs, Wends x
