Sweet Stampin' - Inspired By A Song

Ooh it's the day of 'Love', I wonder if any of your fella's would choke if they heard that?! LOL. My hubby is awesome, awesomely committed to the 'Anti-Valentine' cause. He even wrote me a song about it. Yes, I am serious. You can check it out here. Well it's not every day a gal has a song written for her, so I'll overlook the Valentine dig! LOL.

So that leads me nicely into our new challenge at Sweet Stampin' as this week, we want to see you 'Inspired By A Song'. I love these challenges. It really makes me revisit some of my old favourite playlists! But for me, there is a little twist this time, as my song isn't a 'grown up' song, it's a kids song, actually a 'theme song'. But it really did inspire my creation, as this wee girlie I've made the card for is a HUGE Charlie and Lola fan and my kiddos are too. So while I was making this card, I was humming the theme tune and thinking of this sweet Charlie and Lola loving tot. What would you choose I wonder?

We're sponsored this challenge by the fabulous folks from Crafts U Love, so one lucky winner is in for a super treat! A great reason to get inking and join in our challenge.

The stamp I've used is utterly perfect for this card, as the wee poppet this card was for, was often dressed in the cutest lil' hooded jacket and a set of zebra striped ugg boots which I've done my best to emulate on this card. She attended my son's Playcentre last year and sadly is moving to a different part of New Zealand, so this card was made as a little farewell card from all of the Playcentre families. This cute image is called Mousey Mo from Saturated Canary. I've coloured her with my Promarkers.

The sentiment is from Inkadinkado's Cling range called Mother, Thanks Expressions. It's a 'going away card' so would have been slightly better if it said 'I'll Miss You', but I figured it was close enough to perfect. I really like this sentiment set. It came with three different ones and they're fabulous quality red rubber with green foam self cling backs.

I used a little MME clock icon as the only embellishment as I wanted to keep it pretty CAS, but thought this fitted the theme well as we were all feeling we didn't have enough time with this lovely family at the centre. The paper I've used is the gorgeous Harlequin page from the BoBunny Enchanted Collection. I inked the edges of all the papers with my lovely new Prima Dark Bark Fluid Chalk Ink by Ingvild Bolme. Love these lil' ink dispensers, so easy to hold and use when inking edges, no more dropping my distress ink pads face down onto my work space!

Thanks for popping in today, I hope you've enjoyed my CAS farewell card inspired by the Charlie & Lola theme song. If you want a joyful little tune to craft to, click on the 'song' link on the official CBeebies page I've linked. It's one of my kiddos favourite programmes from the UK. It doesn't screen here in New Zealand, so it was a sweet connection between my little boy and this wee poppet who lived overseas too until last year and loves the show.

Why don't you link up to our 'Inspired by a Song' challenge with your own crafty makes and what you've been listening to while creating. The Sweet Stampin' crew and I would love to see what you come up with. Go check out my awesome teamies creations too. You're sure to find inspiration there! See you again really soon. Hugs, Wends xxxx

As You Like It: CAS or Fussy? Oh no! I'm on the fence!! I utterly LOVE other's fussy, shabby chic cards, but I'm pants at doing them myself. So I'd have to say CAS, as this is the style I do best.
