Fab 'n' Funky - Shaped Cards

Wow, the past two weeks have just whizzed by! I spent one of them in bed really poorly, then we had a lovely visit from my delicious lil' nieces and their mummy. It was so gorgeous to have them with us, but I'd have liked to have been in full health for it. So the last couple of days I've taken it a bit slower and enjoyed just catching up on some of my DT creations. It's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and our lovely hostess Ginny has chosen the theme 'Shaped Cards', which of course had me reaching for my Go Create dies.

This lil' cutie patootie is called Lupita. I have such a soft spot for Lacy Sunshine stamps, so I was so pleased to find they were our sponsor for this challenge. I've been wanting to colour up this cutie for a while. I've used a mix of Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image. Heather was really generous with the DT giving us a stamp each to work with.

I so often go for pinks, or similar girly shades, but this time I was drawn to using blues. I do love gingham, pretty much in any colour so I had a bit of a hunt for the right shade to work with my image and found a lovely blue gingham paper in a Craftwork Cards Baby Boy set of papers.

I got a very exciting parcel in the post the other day, which contained the latest Magnolia Doohickey 'Le Jardin' Magazine. So of course I had to try and squeeze a few of the new dies onto this make. I just love that fabulous window die with it's cute heart shutters. I really like the large leaf dies too. I decided not to swamp the card by adding blooms and just to finish with a simple little gingham bow.

The sentiment is from a Pink Paislee puffer sticker set called Switchboard. I thought the card needed a little 'pop' of colour as it was all so blue, and this little splash of orange I thought was quite fun. I felt it needed balance though, so I used my Coral Promarker on a pink pearl heart and put it in the opposing corner to give a little balance. That was it, job done!

Thanks for stopping in for a wee visit today. I'm looking forward to catching up on visiting my blog buds now I finally have some energy again. So glad to be over that horrid bug. Do stop in to the Fab 'n' Funky blog to see what my fabulous teamies did for their interpretation of the 'Shaped Card' challenge. You won't be disappointed! I'll catch you again soon with another crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends x
