Fab 'n' Funky - Spring

What a whirlwind weekend I've had and the week has just got busier! Here we are again with a new challenge launching at Fab 'n' Funky. This week, our lovely Annie has us in the mood for all things 'Spring'. We are being sponsored by the fab Stitchy Bear Stamps and oh my do they have some utterly gorgeous Spring inspired stamps. I couldn't resist this gorgeous wee man when I was allowed to choose from their fab selection. He just looks so sweet and happy-go-lucky. This stamp reminded me so much of the gorgeous visit my kiddos and I had up North to my Uncle's farm. There was a special little moment when my small boy took my Uncle's hand and just started strolling with him through one of the fields. Utterly stole my heart (and my Uncle's too I think!), so this card is destined to take a trip North.

When I was hunting through my papers to know what to pair this sweet image with, I came across this gorgeous page in a lovely paper pad by Kaisercraft called Cock-a-doodle-doo. I really didn't want to obscure the fabulous scene on the page, so I haven't used ANY embellishments. It's as CAS as can be, and yet, I don't feel it is, because of all that's going on in the paper. A very quick and easy card to make, and yet so much for the eye to take in. I distressed the paper edge and added it to a Kraft card base. I toyed with the idea of adding a sentiment, but decided on keeping it totally CAS.

(Here's a pic from that special moment I spoke of earlier. My papa's big brother is rather special to our family since my papa died. He's the closest thing to a Grandpa my babies have on my side of the family and my children absolutely think of him this way. So these moments together are treasured.)
