Sweet Stampin' - 'Bear' with Me

Ooh I just made it by the skin of me teeth! I have been wrapped up in gorgeous new baby cuddles all week, so no time (or interest) in crafting this week at all. So I've pulled together this wee Christmas card last minute. Which, for a last minute make, I'm super happy with! Gladly my mojo came rushing back. I had coloured this cutie some time back, but never managed to get it on a card, so when our theme for this weeks Sweet Stampin' challenge happened to be 'Bear with Me', I knew exactly which image I wanted to use.

This sweet wee Polar Bear called Ice-Beary Greetings is from Whiff of Joy, which sadly are soon to close their doors. I love their sweet stamps, so it's really sad to see Katharina's business closing down. Do pop over and give her some support in these final days. There are loads of gorgeous digital stamps at half price and a few physical stamps and dies still. If you're a fan don't delay looking as many are already sold out.

I had intended initially to make this card up as a 'shaker card'. But I messed up the windows and ended up having to make it a fancy aperture card. But I'm not unhappy with how it turned out at all. I think it looks fab, so it was a happy mistake. I chose to still add a couple of the snowflakes I was going to use in the shaker to the acetate window, to hint at the idea of that. I sprinkled a little Stampendous Crystal Snow at the base of the apertures and added a good helping to the woodchip snowflake I used after first painting it with white chalk ink. The lovely sentiment is from a Crafter's Companion Bebunni stamp. All those cute stamps have gorgeous sentiments with them. I particularly liked this one and it fit the image well I thought. I used Memento Ink in Nautical Blue for the sentiment.

Our sponsors for this challenge are the fabulous Freckled Fawn, which was totally what gave me the idea to use the woodchip snowflake as they have lots of these gorgeous embellies. This one however was from the lovely Jody at Spiegelmom Scraps.

Below you can see that I adhered the image to the body of the card, so when it's open it shifts out of line a little. I like the effect this gave the card. That little bit of depth that the shaker would have otherwise given.

Well that's me for today. Do pop on over to the Sweet Stampin' challenge and check out the fantastic creations by the rest of the DT. They really are a madly talented crew. Come and join our 'Bear with Me' challenge with your own sweet bear creation. We'd love to see what your take on the challenge is! Sorry about the Christmas overload from me lately. But this little guy just had to be a Christmas bear, so it was a Christmas make again! LOL. Big hugs for a happy weekend and I'll be back really soon with my next crafty adventure. Hugs, Wends x
