Fab 'n' Funky - Christmas

Hey there my lovely blogworld pals. I am off on Spring break right now with the hubby and kiddos. We're down the bottom of the North Island of New Zealand visiting my hubby's Nana who is soon to turn 101! So I'm hoping Mr Blogger has behaved and this post has popped up as scheduled.

It's time for a new challenge at Fab 'n' Funky and as we've been doing all year, we're encouraging you to pull out your Christmas stamps and be organised for Christmas this year. We're being sponsored by the fabulous Craft Classes Online for this challenge. Man they have some amazing classes on offer. Be sure to check them out! We don't have any set stamps to use for this challenge, which meant I could pull out some of my lovely Lili of the Valley toppers I've been wanting to use. These are fab for making quick Christmas cards. I just love these sweet characters.

I've made two cards using the same card base, which is a lovely slate grey textured cardstock (linen weave). For the first card above, I used a gorgeous page which I believe is a Maja Design page from the Crie Diem set. It was part of a gorgeous set of papers (cut down 12x12's) that I won some time ago on the lovely Bev Rochester's blog. I edged the paper and image with red ink and used a red mat to highlight the red details in the image. Very CAS and quick and easy and I love the finished look. I do like to let beautiful papers have their spot in the limelight! So no extra trimmings (quite enough in the sweet image).

The second image is another gorgeous Lili of the Valley topper which I bought absolutely years ago now, when I first started card making from the Ebay site for LOTV older stock. I really should have used them sooner and have always meant to pull them out for a quick Christmas make. So I thought I'd make two and start to use some of my older stash. The gorgeous slate grey gingham I've had equally as long and I bought at the Ally Pally fair from the lovely Anna Marie Designs store. I edged the image and paper with Walnut Distress Ink on this card, matted with red card and finished with a sweet satin trimmed organza ribbon. I added a sentiment on the front of the card this time, which I stamped straight onto the gingham paper. I really like the way this worked out.

The first card, I added a liner and stamped the sentiment inside the card. It's a lovely Stampendous sentiment that I used for both cards, which reads, 'have yourself a merry little Christmas'. You've started singing now haven't you? I can't help myself! LOL.

Well that's it from me tonight folks. I need to head to bed, as I have to pack the kiddies things tomorrow for our trip away. It shouldn't be too arduous a task as hubby is taking the kids to the Zoo for the day. Georgie is going to be a 'Junior Zoo Keeper' for the day. Very exciting day ahead of her. I'll catch up with you all when I'm back from our trip South. In the meantime, be sure to stop in on the blogs of my lovely teamies to check out what they've been up to for this challenge and be sure to join us with your own festive make. Hugs, Wends x
