Sweet Stampin' ~ New Stash or Occasion
Happy New Year my lovely blogging buddies. I have to say, we have had some awesome New Year celebrations in our life and one that will always stay close in my heart is watching the fireworks over the snowy landscape in Sjöbo Sweden. But this New Years night, we totally rocked it! My hubby cranked up his electric guitar and played the night in with some muso pals. We danced the night away and enjoyed a truly fabulous New Year celebration with wonderful friends. A great night was had by all. What a great start to 2016!
The Sweet Stampin' girls are kicking off the New Year in style too, with our first challenge of the year which is 'New Beginnings'. I've gone a little left field with my make, but it works in my head! So I hope you'll like it. We have a Sweet Stampin' Goodie Bag up for grabs this challenge. So come join the fun.
My daughter is beginning a new journey with her archery this year, aiming to compete in her first archery tournament in April. So I made a couple of cards for her trainers to thank them for their hard work. This is my first time using two different images to create otherwise identical cards.
My daughter is beginning a new journey with her archery this year, aiming to compete in her first archery tournament in April. So I made a couple of cards for her trainers to thank them for their hard work. This is my first time using two different images to create otherwise identical cards.
I've used two images from Saturated Canary, which were perfect for this occasion and kept the same style for both cards. I really wanted the images to feature and didn't want to use a lot of embellishments, so it's a very CAS design. The first image is called Freedom and the second Princess Honor. Both beautiful striking archery images. Which my daughter utterly loves! I actually used these images to embellish her school books last year too.
I used digital paper to run a border strip of arrow paper down the left side. I will have to hunt down the source, as I can't recall where the paper is from right now. I popped up the image using fun foam for a bit of depth and dimension and used my Promarkers to colour the images.
I really love the soft colouring I achieved on Princess Honor. But was really cross with myself when I realised I had left Freedom floating in mid air! I totally forgot to ground her! But otherwise, pretty happy with both cards. You can click on the images above to pop them up to a bigger size for a closer look. The sentiment was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink directly onto the base paper. The sentiment is a lovely one from Amy R Stamps for CC Designs. I thought the sentiment fit rather well in the lead up to the kids archery tournament.
So that's my post for today. I've created two cards with two gorgeous images, with 'New' digital paper I've not used before for a 'New' occasion that I've never had reason to create a card for before. So those are my 'New' things in my creation. I hope you'll come join the Sweet Stampin' crew for our first challenge of the New Year and show us some 'New' stash or create a card for a 'New Baby' or 'New Job' etc, however you interpret the challenge is up to you. Just be sure to do some 'stamping' on your creation. I hope you've seen in the New Year with the ones you love and I wish you all your heart desires in 2016. Hugs, Wends x

Your 2 cards are wonderful; I absolutely love these 2 images and your colouring is super :-)
The CAS design is brilliant; I love the dimension from popping up the image panel and that sentiment is so fab.
